No, he not talking about the end of world. He is talking religion and science. The article makes this clearer.

Let's get real. Robertson only said that because young people are not joining his 700 club or other fundamentalist groups in very large numbers. Many older adults still will contradict scientist when their bible beliefs contradict scientific facts.

Their children are not so likely to feel the same.
