TBD

TBD on Ning

Let's keep our connection going this month.  I know, it helps if I contribute.  So I will try to stop in more often.  I can't remember when we actually had roses in bloom before Portland's Rose festival.

hi, all!  between the heat and the fires, it seems like nearly all the country is in some kind of danger!

My brother is slipping away.  Think it will be within a week now.  Was over there this evening and he was awake and responsive for about five minutes the whole time.  It was like that last night as well.  When I called him this am he was responsive and talkative, in the evening cannot talk much.  So tomorrow am going over early and then am taking the day for myself...I am sooooo tired...this has been very waring and it will be glad when it is all over...

then I am going to make a reservation for a plane to portland, rent a car, see my friend star in prineville and then to the ocean to get an ocean fix and have a place that is calming and quiet, where i can make some really serious life decisions, like to I wanna move away from here to a place that is slower paced....the only draw back is my kids and grandkids who are all here

Real teal please come back

Hiya Richard....

It is hotter than hell here and the fires are devastating, not touching me physically yet making an impact emotionally, that is for sure...

Hugs to you Thally, what a difficult journey you have before you. Good thoughts and prayers to you and your brother.

The fires out there are devastating, I cannot imagine what it would be like to be closer. There have been small fires here too due to the extreme heat. The heat is wearing us all down, I have been sporting a headache most of the week which I am sure is due to the heat. I need to force myself to go to the theater building (no AC) and dig through props and costumes. One more week of rehearsal before we hit the boards for real, we have some things to fix and hope we get there!!

Have a cool day all, the heat is on....again.

Thalia, i'm glad you're taking today to tend your own soul, at least after you visit your brother.  it's a tough time.  i think of you often, standing watch while going on with your own life and even just trying to breathe that smoky Colorado air.

Crystal, the thought of working in the theatre with no a/c is freaky -- can you somehow do that in the early morning hours, instead of late evening?

Richard, with all the complaints about heat, i thought of you when my Portland co-worker mentioned that they're spending outdoor evenings sitting around a fire pit, this week.  you must be the only place in the nation that's not sweltering!

Hi all!  It's Friday afternoon and I have quit working for the weekend.  I am really hoping to wrap up both projects by the end of next week.  The weather here has been pretty mild.  A little sun a little rain and temps in the low to mid 70s.  Been very comfortable for the last few days.

Thalia, my thoughts are still with you and your brother.  I know how exhaustive it is for you to have all the stress in your life now.  Hang in there friend.  Oregon is anxious for you to come and visit.  You can beach comb for Japanese artifacts floating ashore.

Crystal, I hope the mid-west cools down real soon.  It's energy robbing and temper shorting when it lasts for so long.  I hope the heat doesn't keep the play goers away.  Keep cool!

Lynn you are right.  Between the heat, fires, tropical storms and political campaigns the country IS in danger.  BTW, I have lost count of the number of times I have made an careless error long ago.  Stuff just happens.

Y'all have a nice weekend and play safe around the fireworks.

we had a line of storms a couple hundred miles long, march across the state last nite.  i was playing in Ladyg's Party Palace on ThinkBeDo (the next iteration of tbd, thinkbedo.ning.com -- feel free to join us at 8 pm eastern on fri/sat nites!) and while i rarely get off the computer for a storm, this one was full of flashing lights but no thunder, too wierd, so i shut down, and within 2 minutes, we lost power.  mine's back, but kids and nephews in northern VA still don't have power and may not get it back for several days yet!  my nephew's smartphone lets him post to FB, he says the storm is called a derecho -- a derecho "is a widespread, long-lived wind storm that is associated with a band of rapidly moving showers or thunderstorms. Although a derecho can produce destruction similar to that of tornadoes, the damage typically is directed in one direction along a relatively straight swath." according to http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/06/29/virginia-dc-derecho-storm_...

Lynn I am happy your are high and dry, safe and sound.  Interesting about derechos!  Thanks for the heads up about thinkbedo.

yes, this took the weather people offguard.  the derechos ride the bottom of the jet stream (fast moving) at the edge of a mass of hot air, so now they're wondering if this will be a more common phenomenon with global climate change....

hope you ALL have a good night and a good Sunday.

and Thalia, i'm not sure what would be a "good" nite for you, but am wishing as good as can be, anyhow.
you are a better sister than i could be, my sibling died alone.  i have no guilt, but much sorrow about that fact.

Good morning. . . everyone is still here, that's nice to see!

Hi stranger.... well here anyway.  Glad you stopped in and hope to see you here more often.  :)
