Key Lime Pie and some AAA batteries.
(I just always got such a strong "I WANT TO BE WORSHIPED LIKE JIM MORRISON" vibe offa Astbury [Mind you, that's "Be WORSHIPED" like Morrison - not be DEAD like him], but Astbury never had a tenth of the charisma or the conviction - or the delusion - of ol' Mr. Mojo Risin'. A pretty hefty slice of the Native American-mysticism pretensions, but that and 25 cents'll get Ian a cup of coffee. Takes a lot more than tight leather trousers to be The Lizard King. The rest of the Cult mashed up some Zeppelin, some Steppenwolf, some Doors "L.A. Woman"-style bar-band crunch'n'sleaze, some glam rock and - That was that.
Goth is....I just don't see any way a person can expect to be taken seriously in their claims of their uniqueness and their individuality when there is such a required uniform and outlook to the whole attitude. Any intended irony tends to fall flat. The contradiction is just too obvious.
Hell, even punk, which really was revolutionary and not so theatrical as Goth, started looking and sounding all-alike pretty damn quick - That's what I loved about "Post-punk" and bands like the Mekons and the Fall. They STILL don't sound or look like anybody else, even after thirty-odd years - They REALLY ARE unique. And they don't all need to shop at Hot Topic to mark themselves as members of some kind of tribe. Just my opinion.)

A four wheel drift in the 18 foot long Plymouth station wagon, and kicking it down the highway at 110 miles an hour with 110 miles on the odometer. Well, not exactly true. The old man did know cause, that piece of crap, that my step father had recently painted sea foam green with house paint and a four inch brush, died on the freeway. We got to 110, but that was the death knell for that ride.
