I have mixed feelings about Fall.  The colors can be breath taking but the weather that brings the colors is not at all my favorite.

Crystal, what helped my arthritis pain was giving up meat!  i suspect it's an "autoimmune thing" connected to the gluten intolerance (or celiac, or whatever it is), but after 5 days with no meat, i could stand up in the morning and not have to stifle a scream, waiting a minute before i could take a step towards the bathroom.  that's why i eat only seafood now (and eggs and milk.)  no meat, no gelatin, no meat broth, and every month or two i can sneak in a few pieces of bacon.  but one chicken wing, or that YEAH! Burger that i shared w/ d's girl, in Atlanta, and i hurt like the dickens for a couple weeks.

yes, if he's a good midwestern guy, raised on beef, that'll freak him out, but eventually he'll hurt badly enough he might be willing to try it.  i've been off of meat for about 6 years now, and it is soooo nice not to hurt constantly!

i know giving up corn is 'way harder, but odds are your sons have got your sensitivity (or will have it at some point in their adult lives), so tossing that stuff out of the house sure won't hurt anyone!

today is my busy day, woo hoo!  TWO conference calls, gosh, i can hardly wait (she says, tongue in cheek).  but hey, i get paid for both, so it ain't all bad.

hope your Hump Day has some good things going on!  its reaining steadily and seriously foggy here, altho the fog seems to be lifting a little bit, finally.  can see about a mile -- when i got up, couldn't see a hundred yards.  but this gray is sure depressing....

Good morning Lynn!  You do have a busy day.  I hate conference calls, I've had enough of them even if paid.  All too often they were a waste of my time.

Not sure what the weather will be today.  Most likely rain for a part of it.  I am already getting tired of wet wet wet.  I agree with you it is most depressing.

Good afternoon all, So far I've had my teeth cleaned, a consutation with the orthopedic surgeon, and this morning, blood work and EKG. Go to the Eye Dr. tomorrow and that should finish it up for another year.

Actually, the time at the farm is not that relaxing. there are Marcellus Shale companies running around all over the place. i'm in negotiations with a landman and have a lawyer involved over a surface use agreement. If they (Anterio) still want to drill on me after that is over, then we go into the fight over pooling and unitization. WV is still kind of an "open range" when it comes to oil and gas.

My Grandparents signed a lease back in 1960. It gave the Grantee the right to do pretty much whatever they wanted to do. That is now owned by a small company that has some conventional wells on me. they have, in turn, sold/assigned the rights to the Marcellus Shale to Antero Resources. But, down through the years the drilling methods have changed and the wording in the original lease does not cover things like pooling and unitization, or horizontal drilling. so, I get to negotiate about all those things. But only after a Surface Use Agreement is negotiated and signed.

From what I have been able to find out, there are many possible outcomes. Antero has acquired the rights to the Marcellus Shale only. So:

1. They can get frustrated with me and just go away.

2. Of course the outcome of that can be them declaring "The rule of Capture" and drinking my "Milkshake" as stated in the movie"There Will Be Blood".

3. They can use the terms of the existing lease, and their assignment of the  Marcellus, to just move onto me and start drilling. then we go to court. Of course they have billions of $s, I have thousands of $. So they will probably win that one.

4. we can come to an agreement and sign a Surface Use Agreement.  Then negotiate a voluntary pooling agreement. Everybody goes away happy and rich.

5. we can go through all of the above and then they may still not be able to get the right of way to build the pipeline needed to get the gas to market. I get old and die and the whole thing moves to my heirs.

I doubt that anyone is still here, but if you are, you may now understand why I don't get to bored out there this year.

They're drilling all over upstate Pennsylvania...lots of land owners getting rich, but our new Gov doesn't make the drilling company pay any taxes and restrictions are pretty lax...lots of really p***ed off people in the state right now!

Good luck to you...

Yikes Robbie!  What a mess!  Good luck.

apparently there's lots of contaminated water discarded on the surface, with this marcellus shale drilling process, too.  there's a LOT of it in northern Canada, but it's too cold up there to move it readily.  WV is easier....

i'm curious, is this why you decided to go there, this late in the year, you knew something was up, or did you just happen to stumble into this?

either way, wishing you good fortune and a very good lawyer!

Hi everyone!!! Been a while since I've been here... Nice to see Quinn here too... Robbie, you're still in the negotiation stage???? I thought that would be over by now... Those rascals are very crafty, so I was delighted to hear that you have a lawyer involved... Good luck and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it all works out well for all involved...

Larry and I went to see the Kinzua Dam and the Kinzua Viaduct... Here's a few pics taken on Monday...

This is what it looks like now after they renovated it... I remember going there about 20 years ago and it was so scary because it was all open on the sides and you could see down between the boards... It was quite a marvel in it's day and a very worthwhile trip to see it now... I was very surprised to see how many people there was visiting the site... Nice...

Phenomenal structure!  It would most certainly bring out the acrophobia in me.

Awesome!!!

Well look who all stopped by Moosies..and I am just now wandering in the door.

Looks gorgeous Kitty, hope you had a great time.

Robbie, you talked a bit to Ward about that issue. Not something I know a lot about since we drill differently here.

Back to work..it has been an extremely busy day...lots of sales.

Glad to see you come by when you can Crystal.  =)
