TBD

TBD on Ning

So here we are looking around, taking a peek... hanging out.

On some thread a bit ago, some one said how annoying the FB was with all the trivial updating goings on.

Personally, I don't think my daily updating is all that interesting but some times I really feel the need to share.  My kitties don't give a whit and the bird...well, he lives in his own world.  His updates would mostly involve "lived another day"..."got some of that shredded stuff again (cheese)"  etc.

Mostly, I have you fine folks to droll on about my meager existence and occasional moments of wonderful.

So, here you go...Keep it brief...mundane with a bit of intrigue.

RRC, the Polyester Boys haven't had a new story to tell since July 6, 1979.

Hope springs eternal, though.

Perfect summer day.  Massive rain this am...blue skies tonight!

Went to the grocer...$50 later...what did I buy?  I shop  for one!

Must have been that teeny bottle of fennel seed for $5 for the chicken breakfast patties I'm supposed to fix w/the $5  lb of ground chicken I bought with the intention of eating healthier..ie: no more Bob Evans or S'mokie links

*sheesh*

Hey Jay...

Fixed the chix sausage and froze 'em.

Lovely summer day here in the 'land of the hand'.

Might be some 'dealing' going on across the street.  Not sure what to make of it or do about it...hummmm.

Hello self...

Feeling a bit pissy about a remark on the fb in regards to nothing new under the sun here on TBD2, just recycling.

Certain yellow faced person hasn't added anything new yet played a big game of "bump" himself here.

So, are we all just a bunch of 'has beens'?

"They haven't had a new discussion topic there since... never. They just recycled the ones from tbd.

There are people who enjoy that sort of thing, and they're free to continue to enjoy that sort of thing. But there are some folk who apparently want something else."

I saw that. Another of those 'get up and walk away'  moments for me. But then I considered the source.

Oddly enough, there is still a lot of pissing and moaning on FB (and maybe on other sites, for all I know) about the decline and fall of TBD.  That pissing and moaning seems to come mostly from the folks who left TBD along the way.  I keep thinking of that rather overworked, yet apropos, question that is often asked, "Are you part of the problem or part of the solution?".

Yeah, I gotta say, the yellow faced person is pretty right on with his assessment.....and it describes a TBD that I've come to like.  We're aging, stodgy, suspicious of outsiders, and pretty much happy with who we are and how we interact with each other.  We're a small town neighborhood....a small town cyber-neighborhood, I guess you might say.

You know, I've realized along the way that we ARE constantly evolving...from the outside looking in it may not appear so, but from my vantage point at the table where all the cool kids sit...be assured, we are moving along quite nicely here.

Sorry to climb on the soapbox....now I'm gonna jump down and slip on over to Forum and see if there's any bumping that needs to be done.

Very well said :-D.

What I find interesting is...if those people came here and participated, this site would be more...lively [?, not sure what word I'm looking for].

Then again, maybe they wouldn't contribute anything of substance...

Seems to me like some egos need constant stroking, when that doesn't happen they blame others...

Excellent, Dodger!

And on a totally unrelated subject....man I covet that head of hair on Ricky Nelson!  ;-0

You cannot stick your tongue out and look up at the ceiling at the same time, a physical impossibility due to the tendons within your neck.

At least no one observed me disproving that theorem.

My tongue works just fine....My neck...not so much.

For the most part  I have a long fuse but a quick knee jerk reaction to remarks that are just plain cutting and self serving.
