And the fried result:

What do you think?

Would you try them? Would you fry them?

Would you stuff your face? Would you eat them any place?

Grandkids might find them appealing. Creator says they're like donut holes.

In any case:

Fried Kool-Aid Recipe

Ingredients:
- Vegetable oil (for frying)
- 1/4 cup to 1/2 cup Kool-Aid (We like grape)
-  3 eggs
- 1/4 of sugar (Want it sweeter? Add more)
- 1/2 tsp. of salt
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- 2 cups milk
- 3 2/3 cups of flour

Optional (variations we think are equally mouthwatering)
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 1 tsp. dark chocolate (melted)
- 1 tsp. honey

Make the batter by beating the eggs and sugar together. Gradually add the milk and dry ingredients, including the optional ones. Cook in hot vegetable oil until golden brown (a few minutes, depending on heat). Cool in tray for a few minutes, then dig in.

Good morning RT!  I just saw a segment on t.v. about the fried Kool-Aid.  I have to tell you, when it comes to sweets, I'll try just about anything.  Ok. . . I'll be the guinea pig here!
I passed this one around my office, hoping one of the younger girls with kids will make it!  Thanks RT

Good morning lodgers!

LMAO at Realteal....

No I won't fry them.  I won't try them.

They are much too sweet.  Must I repeat?

My teeth will ache.  If fried Koolaid I make.

I'll take Richards, too.

Good morning Richard!  Busy schedule today?
Good morning Cat!  Yes too busy a schedule for the whole week.  Met with the contractor on daughter's building yesterday.  His bid is about 50k over budget so we need to fall back and figure out where we can omit to get the the price down.

Morning all....

Thanks for the smile this morning RT...I would have to adjust the recipe to rice flour and fry it in something other than vegetable oil and then I would pig out on them...probably have to fight my son for my share.

The dreaded tooth gets pulled this afternoon....maybe hubby will be a little happier and be able to sleep. He has lost a few pounds since he can't eat too well.

Back to work....it is cool this morning, hope it lasts. Harvest is in full swing so I will have to watch out for wheat trucks and such on my 2 minute commute.

wishing hubby good luck w/ the tooth extraction....

realteal, thanks for the recipe!  I saw the item somewhere in the news, makes me shudder, but realistically, they're no worse than cookies or donuts or any other sugar-loaded food.  and RRC, maybe walnut or peanut oil for frying would make them even better!  rice flour with tapioca flour too would make 'em a bit lighter, i bet!

Cat, you may have to break down and make your own, for when the g'kids visit next? is your son still there, you'll have to hide some from him, i bet.

Richard, love your rhyme -- had no idea you were talented, that way!

Ha!  Good morning Lynn and RRC.  RT's rhyme was inspiration otherwise I would not have thought of it.

lynn, Richard is a relative of Dr. Suess and has a natural talent for rhyme!

And you're right about the fried Kool-Aid being no worse than all the other fried stuff. In fact, who hasn't had some form of Jello cake? It's just that the term "Fried Kool-Aid" is an oxymoron and novel.

Thanks Richard.

Well, Cat, I was thinking of YOUR grandkids and your grandkids, lynn, when I included the recipe. Hope the people at work bring some in for you to try, fresh!

RRC, didn't know you were so sensitive to wheat. Do you wear a mask during harvest? Does rice flour work well for you?
