Might I suggest to those of you suffering the effects of hot, humid climes...
dousing yourself w/powder, like Johnson's cucumber/melon baby powder?
It's really quite refreshing.
Especially if you then lay naked on top of the covers of your bed w/a fan blowing on you.
hmmm.... tmi, right?
You poor dears up there.....
Now you understand how we feel when it gets so freakin' cold down here....and ya'll just laugh.
We had thunder, lightning, rain and hail this morning. The sun has now broken through the clouds, weakly. I just stepped outside, and the humidity and heat have vanished.
I have a task to do today...pulling weeds for an elderly lady. Its the last job left to complete to make her yard presentable. After living here for 25 years, health issues are forcing her to list her house for sale, so she can move closer to her family. Sad, but for lots of the seniors, its part of the circle of life of living out here on The Leelanau.
Its still very wet out there, and I'm kinda hoping the lady doesn't call to give me the go ahead to start the job.
Another wave of storm is rolling through....the lights are flickering.
As Captain Ernest McSorley said, before he was never heard from again...."we are holding our own".
It hasn't rained here in 2 weeks - since the torrential rains Thursday before last that flooded my apt. & garage.
We don't go on "date nights" very often. We're going to an Eagles cover band concert outside/picnic/oh so fun evening Friday night w/a couple of other couples. Rain is forecast. ;-p
