Quinn,

Thank you for defending me, but it is unnecessary. Having conversed/debated with Tim for several years, I know exactly where he stands and how he thinks. He is concerned with what is actual. I am excited by what is possible, hence we would never be on the same wavelength in philosophical let alone metaphysical discussions.

I do appreciate listening to opposing viewpoints because they can serve to refine mine and the good thing is I do have great convictions in what I believe in and am usually able to defend my position in a rational manner even if others perceive them to be irrational.

It could also be because my outlook is typical of the X generation.

=-X  and it grates on some Baby Boomers. LOL

Maricel has stated unequivocally several times that logical coherence is not what she's after.  She holds an express disdain for it.  Arguments with her invariably boil down to this point.  To Maricel, logical coherence is like the game of poker, but she may and will declare any card at any time, no matter what its suite and no matter what its face or number, a Joker.  I'm not interested in that tiresome game, so I leave her to play it with other people, even if she fancies herself to be impressive.

Having a discussion with Maricel about one of her superficial novelties is like flirting with a pretty woman who bats her eyelashes but snubs her nose.  After so many times of that, it's not even cute any more.

Quinn: Get over yourself dude...

Quinn, he merely points at what he sees and has experienced. Maricel is pretty open and generally takes no umbrage. Sometimes questions just have to be asked and I think he asks some good ones. Maricel is very open minded and it is that kind of exchange that we are accustomed to anyway. We are not unfriendly, just open. Sometimes criticism makes things better.

Love your answer Maricel; I wrote my response before reading your response and it validates the openness of your way in conversation. You've done as much with me also:)

I'm starting to take offense at your statements Tim.

I would not have had the ability to survive my rigorous education if I were lacking in logical coherence. You are right, I am not only after logical coherence. I prefer a more holistic approach in dealing with reality which entails use of multiple intelligence in which Logical-mathematical intelligence is but one domain. My muse is Albert Einstein, one of the most logical and, ironically, spiritual, human beings to exist on this planet. It was he who wrote "Imagination is stronger than knowledge." What I believe his quote to imply is that even though knowledge is paramount  in solving "logical" problems or issues,  one has a better chance of arriving at a solution by using one's imagination. I value creativity in myself and in others. It is your prerogative to approach reality in the pedantic way you do.

Note, my discussions are varied and do not just center upon metaphysical topics. I can actually discuss world events and science in a logical and coherent manner. You insult my intelligence by your comments above. I shall refrain from insulting yours.

I disagree with Einstein that imagination is stronger than knowledge because it takes knowledge to exercise the imagination well. Knowledge is the foundation of progress and discovery.

Snagg,

I guess my response was censored like yours. It disappeared strangely. Never happened to me before....oh well.

Maricel I saw your post after you posted it but had to keep hitting the page refresh button as it would flash on but never stay in its entirety. That's how I picked up the Einstein quote - as I read your post one sentence at a time because it would just flash on for a second and disappear.
By the way Maricel, have you heard from Skeeter since he left? I know there was some conversation about the two of you starting another website.

No, but I did try to google his name (if that was his name) and didn't have much luck. It would have been great to have him here with us. Now, he is one debater and moderator I highly respected.

He mentioned in his last few threads that he had a health issue. I hope he is ok.

Actually, I'm wondering too if others in the Tornado belt are ok too. The media coverage of the royal wedding superseded the tornado devastation down south. I'm glad for FB because people on location usually post updates. I know OrianB is ok, but I have yet to find out about the whereabouts of another friend.

This was the webpage he referred to before

I saw that there is an Intellectual Wannabes group on eons and that Skeeter posted there, so I suspect that he was disgruntled about the group and decided to start a new one on My Atlantis in which he could censor theological and political debate.  I can see why Maricel would like Skeeter, since he didn't like to go much below the surface of his many blurts, either.  But it does seem inconsistent for her to respect Skeeter as a moderator, since he practised censorship and she presumably left MA because of censorship.
