Ripped Off

Ok...Today we were out on the road to Walmart to pick up something to clean an old piece of carpet (we got out of the trash at the carpet store) for our front porch.We were right across the street from Walmart when we noticed a guy with his car stuck stuck in the middle of the road so we pulled behind him when everyone else was passing by...

He said he was out of gas & asked if we had a can. The guy handed us his Id & we went & got 2 gal. He said God bless & got our phone #... said he didnt have cash on him...I joted his name & address down on paper while we were at the gas station so when we got back & Eric put the gas in his car we gave him his id back figuring he was a decent guy...You know the God Bless & all that......He was driving a real nice fairly new model truck, ten times nicer than our old wreck which is on its last legs. 

The Bf is mad as hell.....We had loads to do today & here we stop to help a guy..go out of our way to the gas station to get him gas with our own money & put the gas in for him too & the guy who was supposed to call us at home in a hour never called. That was over 4 hrs ago.

The BF is out hunting him down. He says it will be a cold day in hell befor he ever stops to help anyone out ever again.....

Low down dirty thieving no good (fill in the blank)......How can a person rip off a person who helps them off the side of the road?...It's beyond me....The BF is such a polite driver...I guess that is all over now........Do you have a similar story to tell?

Now this story will help to make the BF feel better....Your kind TBD.....Being homeless once I know there are no two stories alike out there on the streets about why people become homeless.....So many vietnam vets who just couldn't hold on, people who lost loved ones & could not go on, athletes who got hurt & could not keep up anymore, I even knew a homeless priest who rejected his faith, A blind guy, a landscaper & the list go on..All these people so different & most were nice people.

Some of the funniest comedians you ever want to meet & some so sweet they would give you the shirt off their own backs literally..There are mean people out there too who prey off the weaker ones..The reasons for the homelessness..all different....not always drug or alcohol addiction, but once out there the drinking can help to numb the pain. It's degrading & people do spit at you, throw things at you & even try to run you down in their cars...I think more to scare you, but you never know.

You have to keep moving & most the time on foot, bathrooms are not always close by, sprinklers get turned on you in the cold, & police chase you out of your hiding places, food is not alway on hand & some days you go hungry, sometimes the desperate poor steal from the poor..down to their shoes. I fell asleep in the park one day & when I woke up everything I owned was gone except the clothes on my body & my shoes thank goodness.....Thanks for helping TBD..I know the ones who you have helped are grateful......Mucho Hugs....Kathy

Forget it LJ..I was upset yesterday..being yelled at all day by the bf who takes everything out on me.

Truth is he is addicted to prescription drugs inc. Xanex which makes some people mean...He is one of them.......Xanex also makes people make bad judgements because their brains are not clear esp. when they mis-use their prescriptions..Talking to him & trying to calm him down is like confronting a lion in the wilderness....No can do.

I was trying to save myself by looking for simular stories & not feelings to tell the Bf and make him laugh & calm down, but I worded my thread all wrong. Not good to write a feelings thread when your feelings are raw.....

Today is a better day...He is at work & when he works he sticks to his correct prescription amount...After work..now thats another story.....

I agree Jaylee....People respond according to what has happened or what is happening in their own lives at any given time.....Can't expect them to do any different. As much as I know this to be true, when I get hot under the collar, I think everyone should understand where I am coming from.. so... after blowing off steam,  a cooling off session is in order & a human being (hopefully) speaks later :}

Hows this? I once let a homeless couple stay in an outbuilding on my own property, rent free. they were there a week and then one day I came home and found everything from the fax machine to the computer system to the television gone. All the drawers had been ransacked, and of course, the young couple had dissapeared never to be seen again. My new attitude? "You're homeless? yeah, lifes a bitch! Now get the fuk outa here!"

Yeah, that's mean of me but I'm not gonna take the chance again.

I have also let the homeless stay at my residences & didnt have very good luck either....The food I meant for dinner.... gone..... when I got home from work, various people I did not want in the house where there when I was not at home. My couch cushions being used as bed cushions so I had to sit in a chair...etc... I don't do it anymore.

Too bad you helped the wrong people, but being homeless does not necessarily mean you are a thief......Like the man we helped on the road...He had a very nice truck & was dressed nicely & very clean.

You ever heard the saying " one bad apple in the barrel can spoil the whole bunch"?.....It's the truth.

There are just as many rich thieves as poor thieves...as a matter of fact...there are most likely more rich thieves, but that is opening up a whole new can of learning to steal legally worms & I don't want to go there.....:}
