American Idol News
Former American Idol producer Nigel Lythgoe is close to signing a deal that will return him to the show. The move could be part of a larger attempt to overhaul the show, which could mean replacing the entire judges panel. Idol creator Simon Fuller is said to be wooing Justin Timberlake and Elton John for slots at the judges’ table.

As much as it pains me to say it, Kara is now the only judge with any credibility. Fire Randy. Fire Ryan and give Ellen his job. Hire 2 new judges, and go with only 3.

The judges panel will not change. Randy and Kara are not budging and Ellen isn’t going to leave unless she gets fired or released from her contract. I dare say that the ‘guest slots’ are to tipped so that they can draw from the waning interest in the show. Unfortunately, this move is a day late and dollar short. Elton John nor Timberlake will come on the show unless they are paid a substantial amount of money to do so! No interest . . . this show is on it’s last legs – just kill it off already!

I would honestly be thrilled with all new judges. Ellen hasn’t really added anything, Randy’s irrelevant, and Kara’s never really grown on me. She tries too hard. To continue the fantasy, maybe Nigel will get so focused on Idol he’ll remove himself from the SYTYCD judging panel!!! A girl can dream…

Let’s not fool ourselves. Not much is going to change for the better next year. In fact it might even be worse. Who is going to be the mean judge that tells the contestants they just aren’t good enough after bad performances. I don’t see Randy, Kara or “lets give Tim Urban a hug after a crappy performance” Ellen being able to do this vital task.
Idol has already lowered the voting age to 15. Will Nigel correct the problem that tween girls can vote/text hundreds of times horribly affecting the outcome? No. Will he make sure that current (last 30 years) music is featured. No.
I think the best we can hope for is a new intro to the show and maybe a fourth judge (Harry Conick Jr. Chris Issac or maybe Ben Folds). Season 10 is going to suck. -

Well, news just keeps on coming!!!
Ellen is out, and apparently, so is Kara! But I'll need to confirm this one. Sounds too good to be true.
News of JLo and Steve Tyler to replace them. Unfortunately, Randy is still there....and they will keep it to three judges.

Ellen probably got tired of Kara always calling her a guy! Randy and Ellen would say something and then Kara would say, I agree with the guys. She did that so many times.
I agree with Bruno...Ellen should host AI, not judge. -

I know....Maybe they should postpone the next season of AI and launch Who’s Judging American Idol?, and hold auditions around the country for those positions…
