TBD

TBD on Ning

Quinn's "It was a Year Ago Today..." thread has me reminiscing, and has added to my
desire for our beloved tbd site to thrive.

What about marketing? I haven't had a desire to do that in the past b/c this place
was "mine" - it has been "my place" where I can let my hair down, express myself
however I want, not filter (okay, oKAY- I'm not good at filtering IRL, either, but hey...).
My point is, I've delighted in the 'cloistered' nature of it from the rest of my life.

But....

maybe it's time to rethink that? How do you feel about a marketing blitz?
Us telling people about our beloved o/l social network?

Those who are facebookers could blitz their contacts & pages w/plugs for tbd & its link.

We can jot it on our business cards when we're chatting up people, include it in e-mails.

How about some actual advertising, like a printed notice of it that we put up on
bulletin boards in the local businesses we haunt - coffee shops, massage centers,
Nail places (omg, I'm a prima dona & didn't even KNOW it! ;-p), grocery stores/markets,
car repair places (Ubu, just think- you might give a customer or 2 ONE bit of relief
as they're getting taken to the cleaners at your mechanic's shop)

So..... whaddaya think?

(btw... who's graphic is that? I found it on a "teebeedee" Google Image search)

When I tell people about this site, I'm ususally rewarded with patronizing smiles while they edge toward the door.

Maybe I need a Dale Carneige course or two before I go out and try to convert the masses.
Okay, Stir. You are excused from marketing us. Please. Stop telling people about us. Now.
I want a customized teebeedee avatar like this one I found. Who can do that for me? Come on, step up. I'll change the shirt on my Yahoo avatar to a t-shirt & "TEEBEEDEE" can be printed across it. I love it!

HEY!! We could get t-shirts made!! Oh, my gosh! what a GREAT idea!!

Remember those ones, and the canvas bags, that were made for some event that I didn't attend?
Anyone here the proud owner of any of that stuff?
I never searched "teebeedee" before now.

The first thing we need to do is change the name because the first articles that come up are about teebeedee's demise.
It's hard to attract people to a site if they think it doesn't exist...
I found TBD via an ad on Facebook.

I may get the same reaction Stir does. Zealots usually get tarred and feathered in these parts.
I too found TBDv1 through an ad on FB. And, true people need away to know that the current TBD does exist.
If you Google "NING" you get a something that is nearly impossible to navigate. I don't know how they're rated as the 5th best social network.
What I don't understand is why people keep running away from here. We're paid up for a year, so why leave?
Do some of us have BO or something? Is an all-powerful moderator or scout leader that important???
Somebody please tell me...
I don't get it, either, Bob. I would think a site like this would be so appealing to so many people. It's really a mystery to me, except that people don't know we exist. Those that were here & have bailed, have bailed; I'm thinking we just have an issue w/getting the site exposed so people know we're here.
Why don't you post information on craigslist under "free stuff". Lots of potential there.
Great idea, michael! Okay, everybody go make a Craigslist post in their city/nearby cities, advertising tbd.

GO!!!
Hi d's girl. :)

(text, text, text, text.)
hahaha.... hi, RayDane.

Have you heard about tbd?
Hanging out there is like a day at the beach!
