TBD on Ning

Do you have a rule in your home about guests and residents removing their shoes when they come in?  Is it a way to help them feel more relaxed and at home?
Some cultures regard it as a sign of respect....
Some homeowners are not inclined to run the vacuum anymore than necessary...(me).
Some don't care either way....
I live in a state where there is lots of snow and sidewalk salt in the winter and I don't care to have it tracked in to the house so I prefer winter wear comes off at the door.   During the summer I'm not too fussy....

I just wish I could figure out how to keep the kitties paws litter free after the visit to the box...

Oh, Larry, I wouldn't want to dirty your new carpet! I hope it's a practical color.

Oh yes Chez, practical and boring. We haven't had color in this house since you tie-dyed the drapes.
I try to respect other people's property, but should I ever see a SIGN telling me to remove my shoes, I'm gone, kin or no kin.
Oh, I didn't think of that! They are silly old things I love because I can slip them off and on so easily with my hands full, and wear socks with them in the winter... they're older than old.

Wish mine were this pretty color!
There wasn't a problem with a pile of shoes Dottie. It was a beautiful day and evening, everybody stayed outside except to use the bathroom.
My guests used to stay INSIDE.....except to use the bathroom.
:-D

This would be awkward.....
I keep a big jumbled up pile of shoes by the door.....hopefully I put on an actual matched pair when I go out. I really like going barefoot, outdoor and indoor. I've had more foot issues when wearing footwear than when going without. I have a pair of 25 year old flip flops that are nicely broken in now....I like wearing those around.
