1) make sure no programs start automatically when you boot up (unless you want them to, of course).

2) delete all .tmp files...better yet, clean your harddrive, which should also delete .tmp files.

3) run malware, adware, spyware and virus scans...doesn't matter how long it takes.  Shut it down and re-boot after each scan.

4) defragment your harddrive.

(does it usually happen when you're on-line?  If so, also reset your modem...are all your Flash and add-ons the latest versions?  If not, get them updated.)

Yup, a pain in the butt...but maintenance is a little less urgent if it's dome frequently.  Hope that helps.

Un screw the case and take compressed air and blow out the dust.
Check the fans for blockage.

It's better, but slow. How do I get dust bunnies out if they're in there? Jaylee53 is right about the frustration!

Or?
It could be full of dust bunnies and making it overheat.

Not necessarily Slim but you might die of frustration trying to figure it out!

Not necessarily, but it could indicate a virus has invaded your machine or that you have too many programs running at the same time.
