TBD on Ning

Larry and Kittycat are back home, so I can hit the road again.

I haven't posted a OTRA blog for over a month because it has been a long, cold, miserable winter here in Florida. Just like most of the US. So not much happened. (:>)

Happy and I spent Jan. and the first three weeks of Feb. at Patrick AFB, near Melbourne, Florida. then, the last week of Feb. we moved to MacDill AFB, Florida. Near Tampa. The cold, wet, miserable weather continued until yesterday. Yesterday and today have been nice. In addition to the weather, there have been highs and lows since arriving here.

One of the lows is that I am having brake problems on the RV. The right front brake overheated as I arrived here at MacDill. After sitting and cooling down it seems to have released and is working. I hope! I found out that this is a design problem with the chassis that is used in my RV. So, I have an appointment at an RV shop in Clearwater, Florida. Monday I will have it inspected and if necessary, fixed.

This problem kind of screwed up my schedule. I was to have left Tampa Sat. Morn. Was going to try to meet MelyMel and possibly Beth-by-the-Bay and Powergirl Sun. Well now I do not know when I'll be near Mobile. Looks like I'll be calling at the last minute again. I'm still getting flak about short notice on the last trip. I left a msg. for Pru letting her know that I did not know when I'll be in her area. So, even though I'm very disapointed, I still hope to see everyone. Using the wisdom gained by living this long. I decided that driving a 20,000 pound Vehicle with defective brakes, towing a 4000 pound vehicle through traffic and on the Interstate was probably not condusive to living another 70 years. So, I'll be there as soon as a reasonable safety margin will allow.

The highs were; No Pun Intended.

1. Getting to meet Larry Kremis and his wife Kittycat Kremis. TeeBubbaDee and his wife Dee. We had a great time eating, laughing, telling stories, and consuming great quantities of beer. We solved many of the worlds problems and probably contributed to some new ones. I read somewhere that after our meeting the earth's axis had shifted and the days were shorter. I'm sure that Daylight Savings Time will take care of correcting that.

2. Meeting once again with WtF, or Wanda the Faye, Nadre Wild Tide and Mark Mentzer. Denise, did I spell that correctly? We had a great meeting at a Chili's resturant where WtF and I had met previously.

Obviously the scandle had died down since then and no one recognized us. At least I don't think so. But I did notice a couple cop cars arriving as I left.

3. Had a nice visit with two of my cousins who live in the area. We drove out to the beaches and played tourist. My other cousin and her family were being victimized by the bug. She said they were all having respiratory problems. They said "Stay Away"! We'll see you next time. They may have just wanted more time to practice on their Wii since I took mine to their house last time and cleaned their clocks.

Well, that's about it. Pictures are included.

As Usual, Happy is the center of attention. Tee, Dee, Kitty and larry's bald spot.

Kittycat ain't afraid of any big black hairy dog!!!

The entire trip across the south, I didn't see one armidillo, I've never seen one. Maybe I didn't look closely enough at the road kills along the interstates.

Just wanted to let all my fellow Texans know that they can visit Florida and see fauna that will remind them of home.
