About Me:: I have been a college librarian in NYC for more than 30 years. I love the work-- for me, answering reference questions is a little like doing an open-ended crossword puzzle.

I'm married and live on Long Island (NY) with my wife and younger daughter. My older daughter is no longer at home.

In my free time, I enjoy going to art museums, playing guitar, and reading when my eyes are not too tired. Favorite authors include David Lodge, Robert B. Parker and Garrison Keillor. I spend too much time surfing the Internet. I prefer older movies--e.g. The Third Man, Laura, Arsenic and Old Lace, Casablanca, and The Maltese Falcon. I'm also a fan of the Indiana Jones series. I do a bit of writing, mostly book reviews, and some biographical sketches that appear in reference books. I also have a blog (see the url in my Experience section), though I notice that there hasn't been a new post in months.
