I bought a Nu Wave oven a few months back and have used it quite a few times, usually for things like baked chicken etc. I did a meat loaf in it too, which turned out pretty good. I guess my question is, does anyone here have & use one of these? Since I plan on really cutting fat & calories come the New Year, I'm looking for some healthy recipes. Any suggestions?
I have not heard of this oven. Is it something different from ovens of the past?
Here's a link to their official site, just so you can see what it is. It's a convection/infra red oven, and it really does do a nice job on everything I've cooked, so far. I do belong to a site for Nu Wave owners but haven't really seen a lot of recipes or information on reheating frozen food etc. I was hoping that someone here might have some input.

I've seen it online, it looked interesting. I've seen another new type of oven recently that worked with water or steam. I have a small tabletop convection oven that I use a lot.
Let us know more about your NU Wave experiences AmerikinWmn, nothing like getting info from real experience.
As I mentioned, I've used it a few times. I've roasted a whole chicken which turned out great, nice and juicy and browned well on the outside. I did a pot roast, which truthfully, I didn't do correctly so it wasn't so hot. Baked potatoes turned out fine, and I've done frozen food, like chicken strips etc. which were good. I have noticed that it doesn't seem to be all that much faster than a regular oven, maybe a bit, but it uses far less electricity and you don't heat up the whole joint, which is a plus in the summer. Since I'm just cooking for 2, the fact that I'm saving on the light bill is a plus too. Another good thing is it's a lot easier to clean than the regular oven!
I did some chicken breasts in the Nuwave oven, they turned out really moist and good. I used soul food seasoning, a little extra cumin, granulated garlic and a pinch of ground cayenne pepper; put 2 TB extra virgin olive oil in a plastic baggie, added the seasoning and squished them together to mix. Added 3 chicken breast halves and sealed it up. Left them for about 3 - 4 hrs, then cooked them in the Nuwave for about 8 minutes on each side, 16 minutes all together. You'd have to adjust for the thickness but it's not hard. As I said they turned out great.
Before making the chicken I made some homemade mac and cheese in the Nuwave and I was really happy with the way it turned out. Since I've never made homemade mac & cheese in my life, I wasn't quite sure what to expect, but I had found a recipe on the back of a macaroni box when I made tuna mac salad the other day. I used that as a base and redid it to my liking and as I said, it turned out well. Since you can use any pan or implement in this oven that you would use in a regular oven, it makes it easy. As long as it fits, that is, lol.

Yes I am, Grammie Sue. It's just a matter of adjusting the time for some recipes, but it's really nice not having to heat up the big oven and that will be a real treat in the summer!
