Do you have a special item you rely on to get that stubborn stain out...any home remedies? Wth the rising cost of everything...are there things you now make at home instead of buying them...any shortcuts in cleaning things.
once or twicw a week put baking soda and white vineger down the drains in the house .T baking soda act as a scrubber and the vineger is a mild acid and move things along and the drain smell good.
When I do dishes and especially sharp knives I put a red cup on the sharp knives and it tell those near the ink that there is a sharp knife there
I don't know about the fleas and wish I did, just in case. I do think there are some new flea killing dips that aren't gas mask time. For us it's the old standbys, fresh orange juice plus the oranges, all fresh fruit and veggies really plus a multiple vitamin for the immune system. Parsley tea, taking a snort of salt water which burns but it works, raw honey by the tablespoon, and eating lots of garlic cooked into soup for a cold or flu. Also, hot peppers are a very good natural antihistamine.

For fleas, I was told to use dawn dishwashing liquid. It smothers the fleas. The vet said, it dries out their skin though.

I don't know if it works on fleas, but when I was growing up my mother used to wash my hair at least twice a week with egg yolk. I don't know if it was because of that but I have beautiful strong hair. However I tried the same with my daughter and did not get the same result, might be the fact that my mom was using her home eggs from her own chicken and I used those that grow in the grocery store refrigerator.
Hmm I wonder...
Any way if it does not clean the fleas, at least will feed them and they won't bite the dogs...

I use a product called WOWGreen, I wash my dog to my car and boat with it. It's all natural no patrolum products or poisions, I no longer use the swiffer products anymore because it causes cancer in small amnials. If you want more info on WowGreen let me know I will send you a link.

If you get a jelly fish sting, find someone to pee on you, it will take the sting out!!
I also keep an aloe plant at the house for burns.

Apply old fashioned Bluing (an old-time laundry whitening solution) to wasp and bee stings, and it takes the sting out and keeps the swelling down (*not* for those obviously who are allergic to such). Bounce dryer sheets stuck in pockets keep wasps and bees away.

Six teabags in a pot of lukewarm water for twenty minutes. Then soak a cloth in it, leave it dripping wet, and lay it over sunburn for twenty minutes. The pain won't come back for up to twelve hours. It's the tannin that does that.

Lavender oil is my must have. It works wonders on burns, especially sunburns.

Adolph's Meat Tenderizer, when made into a paste with water, does wonders for insect bites, particularly the flaming feeling of the fire ant. I know from experience it works. It contains a papaya derivative, papain.

Marigolds are very good at keeping mosquitos away. You might want to keep them in pots though, cats and dogs love peeing on them if they are in the ground.
j lee sI have marigolds on my picnic table now because of this one. Thanks Lee!
Vanilla extract,is good for burns, meat tenderizer is good for bee stings and mosquito bites, tobacco juice is good for bee stings. If you have problems with those pesky flies, take a white Frisbee and put a mixture of lemon scented dish soap like Joy in it till it has a yellow tent to it and set it out,you come back with a bunch of dead and dieing flies in it.

When my kids were babies I used vanilla extract for mosquito repellant. It works. For odors in the house I put out charcoal and the smells are gone immediately.

witch hazel for mosquito bites, basil as a love potion, sage for clearing negative energies and rosemary for preventing arthritis and to relieve fibromyalgia pains.

For fleas, I use Dawn detergent and it WORKS. Shampoo the dog in it, then the hard part: wait 10 minutes before rinsing. A dog groomer's trick.
Spider repellent: Anything with oil in it e.g. orange oil, various cleaners and furniture polishes. Arachnids will avoid the substances because they don't want oil on their little tiny annoying legs.
For fleas in the house use borax and sprinkle it all over the house and carpetit dries up the fleas and their eggs then in 15 days drip the pets again and borax the house again and the fleas should be gone
