I was more of a Stax / Volt / Atlantic guy, myself - Otis, Aretha, Al Green, Solomon Burke, Wilson Pickett and other, more Southern-fried soul acts. My favorite Motown act was probably the Temptations, after they'd gotten radicalized by the 60's - "Psychedelic Shack", "Ball Of Confusion", stuff like that.
