TBD

TBD on Ning

I heard an interesting piece on NPR today.  The subject was about what happens to your internet domains  after you leave this celestial plain.
One caller had a brother that died recently and she contacted his known internet stops and they happily changed his password so she could notify them of his passing...which I thought was rather surprising!
One caller asked if having an internet 'wake' was appropriate...starting a page on some site to honor the deceased.
Some one else remarked about keeping passwords in a safe deposit box and having the executor follow a directive about what to do with the internet world.
Yet another stated that it was human order for when one passes from this earth to let it all go.....
Yet, I do question that how long does a site remain active and how would you feel if you got notices from FB to 'reconnect' with some one you know is really gone?

Just wondering...when we are gone....how really gone are we?

lol!

cyber space is a whole new..... frontier.
Captain James T. Kirk may have been just a little off course.
hahaha!! yes, & he was just a leetle too full of himself... that's a known factor in getting a little off course. '-)
I just hope Red Green doesn't sue my estate for copying his style.
I heard that piece on NPR, also. Our cyber-world has become another dimension of self.

Lars and I don't know each others' passwords for our email and other cyber accounts. I've wondered how we'd notify the other's contacts if/when the time comes...
It certainly is a whole set of new questions for the contents of living wills - and for Miss Manners.

I know that we have lost a member here, and his profile remains. I feel badly about taking him off my friend list, so there he stays.

Well, I've been dead for several years now and it hasn't stopped me!
Just go already, will ya? Why the same grin?

What else can you write on their page?
This will add up after a few more years. Many deadies will still be cyber alive and we are simply waiting for a reply. "Why don't you ever write me? You just sit there!"

"Your friend message has been sent."
To where may I ask....?
