Why is John McCain over there?

He wants us to get involved in that war. Never saw a war he didn't like.

Other than a nose for news, why is McCain over there?  Maybe it is as a stocking horse for those that need to get a look at the Irregulars fighting Assad or, maybe, as a ploy.  And of course, whose ploy would that be?

Not the McCain has not shown up at the front, he has in the past.  And of course, he had creds in dealing with those on the ground and in the sky, but as a foreign statesman, not clear.

What is clear is Syria, et. al., is a mess.  There is hardly no one is not involved either directly or has interests in what happens.  And of course, our main interest Israel has to be nervous, very nervous at what is happening at its borders.

I don't recommend that anyone watch this link .    One of FREE SYRIAN ARMY  members in Syria that John is hanging out with -- rips out the heart of a Syrian and eats it.

No, not recommended, but instructive on how destructive this event is.  Syria is releasing all sorts of post-Arab spring issues and malcontents to mix it up in Syria, not for the best of the Syrians but to represent whatever cause or causes each one of the fighting factions promote.

As an oil analogy, it is but fuel to the fire, the fire that remains the Middle East, and one we may yet need to fight, or just let burn.

There is a question of whether neglect is a valid policy and let Syria go to embers, or, pick and chose winners on the come as being better than the alternatives.  Of course, most of this is out of our hands and in the hands of Iran, Israel, the Russians, the Turks and the Saudi peninsula emirates whose interests are most involved.
