The murder of Kasandra Perkins by Kansas City Chiefs linebacker Jovan Belcher, who committed suicide a short time later, has reinvigorated the ongoing debate over gun control in America.   

On Thursday, the same day as a memorial service was held for Perkins in Texas, the CEO of the National Rifle Association felt that something had gone unsaid in mainstream discussions:

"The one thing missing in that equation is that woman owning a gun so she could have saved her life from that murderer" 

Is there a myopia test for CEO's?

"the premise that the next Obama administration will limit and make illegal the purchase, ownership and possession of weapons and ammunition."  

 

The fact is Obama hasn't done a thing or even talked about it.  Republicans love and  live to scare themselves with gloom and doom, don't they?  

Nothing like Republican States as of 2010 destroying 14th Amendment Constitutional Rights for 50% of the country when they get into power,  Or destroying unions destroying peoples jobs and lives to cut finances of opposition in order to win elections.  Holy Crap, the JFs are still outlawing Sharia (Islamic) Law because, Obama's a secret Muslim!"  

Republicans are certifiable.  How they get away with this (Holy) Crap I'll never understand.  Republicans may be collectively stupid, but we are more stupid, we keep electing them.  How soon we forget, and history repeats...

What we have here is fear L3, which is a powerful influence in what people do.

Is it political, sure, why not.  Is it social, sure, why not.  Is it rational, well, that is in the eye of the beholder. As to impacting a society, surely, and that is what this is all about.  Fear of those that see what they think will happen.  

But as to reality, well, reality always bits.

I'm not sure if I should ham in on this or not, since my ancestors had flintlocks...?

They lived on the Virginia frontier...And if you didn't have a gun in the cabin everybody would be dead after the local tribes had their way...

I agree. What no one on the extreme right seems to remember is that the second amendment was written with flintlocks in mind.
