has anyone noticed the latest talking point about the number of casualties in syria like our saltie little friend? the fact that something around 70,000 casualties have occurred somehow makes it paramount in importance that the us do something....tho the dufi seem confused about what that should be...send in troops?.. b2 and f22 strikes? ...cruise missiles? ..back someone and send in arms?
1-we don't need to wade into the swamp to start a new ten year trouble (kind of like intervening in a domestic dispute: you'll always be wrong to someone);
2- great ..send in aircraft and what happens when and if the antiaircraft batteries they have shoot one down? not to mention that it is considered an act of war even if syria is in a civil war (and this suggestion was from the very same guy who wants someone further up the food chain to pay for the boston marathon bombing....has to be a conspiracy don't you know? so what? we attack chechnya cause of two demented dumbfucks? sounds like how ww1 began..
3) cruise missiles...and we have budget problems....what do you target to hit with those cruise missiles? and at 1.4 million a copy to drop a missile on each target, does that translate to economic conservatism?;
4) back which faction and send arms in? and of course they only work for the good guys right? not like the different factions would share til assad is overthrown and then turn on each other...dumb and dumber.....and by the way....if the number of casualties impels us to get involved, then why aren't we sending troops to help mexico in the drug wars where something in the neighborhood of 86,000 people have died and it is on our southern border?

Remember how Saltie whined when Obama sent assistance to Libya? Whatever he does will be wrong to tea baggers.
and this just in from Greg Abbott, the AG of texas....Democrats are a greater danger to texas than north korea....headslap and eyerolls anyone?
i doubt he means that....abbott is a teatard...but we know he is a pogo character....and in line to inherit the throne from rick perry....remember in texas they run on how conservative they are...anything to the left of attila the hun is considered dangerously socialist. one mayoral candidate in houston bragged about being 'physically conservative'...i think he was trying to say fiscally conservative but one never knows...you might ask his wife
As I pointed out before, Syria starts with and "I". It is the neighborhood that matters as much as what happens in Syria domestically. And yes, it is a dangerous neighborhood, very, very dangerous place to be. Iran has used Syria as its Arab proxy to provided direct support to those that do and would make war on Israel as much as give Iran a hand in the overall Arab conflict including the Persian Gulf. And it starts with oil, siphons off into religion and returns to who controls both in the peninsula.
What can the United States do? A lot and nothing. A lot of military effort could be applied for no gain to either the United States, Europe or the rest of the world in that what is happening is intractable and we could only make things worse, or not.
To replace Assad is mostly to rearrange the deck chairs as much bigger geopolitical issues remain unresolved. As to the people of Syria the future with or without Assad is unclear. What is clear is instability, violence and suffering whether Assad is replaced or not for the Syrian people. What is also clear is the idea of red lines are mostly illusions of using words instead of actions, and actions or their lack have consequences.
