at 3 pm, im looking up at a half moon in a clear blue sky (maybe 10 o'clock high) and an airplane just deposited a conttrail directly beneath it.  too bad i didn't have a camera in hand, what a spectacular sight!

December is upon us, and in 21 days, the winter solstice will be upon us, which means **ta da!!** the days will begin to get LONGER again, and inevitably the temperatures will warm!

WoW! The lodge has been remodeled since I last was here. It seems like only yesterday

we aim to please, Robbie!

WoW!  Nice lodge with a pool yet.  Does it come with Antonio, Ramon, Thor, or Sven?  December is such a busy month.  I am campaigning for a simple Christmas this year.  We agreed on minor economical gifts.  We haven't agreed yet on no cards or family photos though.  I think we will keep that tradition going.

For the first time this winter I had to scrape ice from the windshield this morning.  We are into a clear and cold phase.  I am hoping it is short lived.  Now that I have primo tire chains we probably won't get any snow.  It breaks my heart..... NOT!

yikes, ICE!  and it doesn't usually get that cold, there, does it?  hope you don't need those chains this year -- far better to have them and not need them, than the reverse....

as for pool boys, well, there's one of the guys at my pool who supplements his day job income by lifeguarding and coaching swim teams, i think i'd bring him over if i needed a fantasy guy there :-)

simple christmas, sounds good.  i support my kids all year, and thus have trained them not to expect megabucks for birthdays or christmas, for sure.  sigh.  i suppose i'm glad i can.

Teri started work this week at a tobacco shop, minimum wage.  i mean, i'm glad she'll have income, but i'm paying off the tens of thousands that supported her and the grandkids while she was getting a bachelor's degree, and every job she gets pays less than the last one, and (to date) lasts less time than the last one.  sigh. again.

yeah, the sun's out, but i'm having trouble rising above gloom today.  mister michigan's family had lots of big deal things this past week, one grandkid got married, another got adopted by his daughter, and while i'm genuinely happy for them, it just brought back a little too much reality, so i permitted myself a crying jag last nite.  i think i'll go swim now and see if some endorphins will help!

ICE??? We don't have no stinkin Ice here in Kemah, TX.  Although we do have these humorious signs about bridges iceing before roadways.

a friend of mine made that and put it on FB, so i thought i'd paste it here to see if it works!  copy/paste, and we can "like" things here, if you wish (or not....)

Three you you still here, amazing!!!!  Haven't seen you Lynn on facebook lately so thought I would venture in here to say hello.  It is snowing and cold here. Had plans to go see Aliasnew apartment, yet from the looks of things outside, think I am just going to stay in.  Am still unpacking boxes and putting up pictures on the wall, it is beginning to feel like home, yet, there is something missing.

Last weekwas my first short week at work and that is going to be really nice...really nice...things have gotten so crazy at work, so many changes that I am glad I am on my way out instead of on my way in...Keep trying the lottery thing...so far has not worked, will keep trying  LOL

Life as I have known it in the past is changing and while it is good change, change sometimes kicks my butt

am still waiting for the deposit from our duplex and that is taking forever, am so glad that I am out of there...no more shoveling or cleaning up leaves,

I hope that everyone has a day filled with love and laughter and will try to get back here occassionally....

hi, Thalia, thanks for stopping by here.  yeah, i don't so much post my own stuff on FB, as just wander around commenting on other people's....

a new home, every new home, is a unique experience.  sounds like you're still a bit unsettled.  i'm STILL finding things that i need to set right, or a box that got tucked out of sight, opened but not unpacked.  sigh.  and haven't yet put anything on the walls, but maybe this weekend; i've got them near where i want them but just not sure yet!

i'm glad that you're satisfied w/ your decision to cut back on hours, hooray!  even as you say, change brings its own problems, you'll settle in.  i'm glad to hear from you!  btw, my conference in January 2013 is in Denver, middle of the month, so we'll get a chance to visit over a meal, at least!  yippee!!!

it's the first sunday in December, and it's a long slow weekend.

It 's the first Sunday in December and I am finally getting here. Seems like the day skips away and I didn't make it here. I know that is a good thing, lots of activities with the Christmas holiday. Ward & I visited Christmas Wonderland, a new feature here. Found some fun ornaments, visited with folks, looked at the lights, talked to the reindeer and listened to the bell choir playing...my best gal pal was playing so I had to make a few faces at her.

Home to sit for a spell with the boys and gear up for tomorrow.

Thally, so glad to see you, my house is in chaos normally so can't imagine pulling things out of boxes like you and Lynn have been doing. Hope you both are settled soon.

My day off tomorrow, maybe I should try and get a little Christmas done while I have the chance.
