I came across a story today online which follows below. I had a strong reaction to what I read. What is yours?

At a press conference on Thursday, the no. 2 House Republican Eric Cantor said that someone had shot through the window of his Richmond, Virginia
office sometime on Monday. He also said he had received threatening
emails but would not make them public. Cantor accused Democrats of
“fanning the flames of violence” and using recent threats against them
for political gain.

UPDATE: The AP reports that the bullet was actually fired at a building where one of Cantor's consultants works.

Possible shot fired at office building of Cantor consultant

A possible gunshot was fired through the window of the downtown Richmond Main
Street building that houses the offices of one of Rep. Eric Cantor’s top
political consultants, a source says.

There was no immediate confirmation that it was a gunshot. There were no injuries or other
details immediately reported. It’s not clear whether the damage was
inflicted —it may have been last night or two nights ago.

Brad Woodhouse, spokesman for the Democratic National Committee was quick to
respond to Cantor's claims:

"We disagree with the charge made by Rep. Cantor today that Democrats are using acts of violence for
political gain," he said. "Let's be clear: Calling on Republican leaders
who have contributed in part to this anger by wildly mischaracterizing
the substance and motives of health reform to condemn these acts is
entirely appropriate."

Later on Thursday, Cantor is scheduled to be the special guest on a “S.T.O.P. Obama Tyranny National Coalition”
conference call.

I actually saw the press conference and all Cantor did was say he was opposed to the recent violence and then tried to blame in on the Democrats. Until the republican party has the guts to chose leadership that actually leads they are in trouble. And to think they attack Nancy Pelosi when they really wish they had someone like her.
Check out the gleeful expression and quick tap dancing of an Arizona congressman trying very hard to avoid address this serious issue on hardball.

"Like an unchecked cancer, hate corrodes the personality and eats away its vital unity. Hate destroys a man's sense of values and his objectivity. It causes him to describe the beautiful as ugly and the ugly as beautiful, and to confuse the true with the false and the false with the true." -- Martin Luther King, Jr., 1963.
Editorial by Charles Blow.

"Whose country is it?"

The bullying, threats, and acts of violence following the passage of health care reform have been shocking, but they’re only the most recent manifestations of an increasing sense of desperation.

It’s an extension of a now-familiar theme: some version of “take our country back.” The problem is that the country romanticized by the far right hasn’t existed for some time, and its ability to deny that fact grows more dim every day. President Obama and what he represents has jolted extremists into the present and forced them to confront the future. And it scares them.

Oh, Jacquin, haven't you heard Palin blame the "lamestream media" for trying to distract her torch and pitchfork crowd? Pat Buchanan was even trying to defend the fact that protesters to her rally were roughed up by her supporters. He always makes me want to shower immediately. She is just a tool.
She is just a tool.

And a dull one at that.
