SIMON SEZ
I'm really looking forward to January ; but not for the reasons most people do. Yes, it's the excitement of post Christmas gift returning, left over Thanksgiving decorations finally put away, football playoffs about to srart,an overkill of college bowl games,and a happy new year .Plus, winter is my favorite season. But this first week in January is special for me. I'll be one of ten New Yorkers competing in my 2nd National Simon Sez Tournament in Madison Square Garden.
My last year's 4th place finish among over 500 contestants while amazing to my friends and family is still a great disappointment to me. I placed my hands as Simon said on my Isles of Langerhans, albeit a tad too high and was eliminated. But now through my constant studying of the human anatomy. I have become more knowledgeable than surgeons at the Mayo Clinic. Dr. House would be proud of me. So would Dora the Explorer. I can locate anything in or on my body. I can pinpoint every organ, bone,muscle,tendon, gland, and every other physical attribute of my body. Oh...he's tricky and devious that Simon. Hands up. Hands down. Breathe in. Breathe out. That's if Simon sez. I have exercised body parts I never knew I had.
I know my interior to my exterior to my medulla oblongota. Hands on right ventricle. Hands on left auricle. Simon sez put your tibia on your gluteous maximus. You have to be a contortionist to stay in this competition or an expert at the game,Twister. Put your dorsal ulna on your blowhole. What am I ? a whale? He's a sly one that Simon. But I won't get fooled again. I can catch a fly with my tongue better than a bullfrog. I can do the hokey pokey backwards. YES. I'm ready for anything Simon sez.
Am I looking forward to January ? You bet your life. After I hopefully celebrate my Simon sez victory. my attention will shift to my first National Musical Chairs tournament to be held this year in the Meadowlands, New Jersey. I'm not sitting this one out. I hope to win that regal prize: Chairman of the Year.
