No, it didn't; I loved him, he loved all his other girlfriends (especially whichever one he was with at the moment) and his Stingray Corvette.

My high school sweet heart was a few years older than me, he went away to college and I became a bad girl.  We eventually broke up.   My first husband was amazing until he hit 40, not sure if it was a mid life crises, he started to drink and became mean.  He was not the same man I married.  I filed for divorce and still feel guilty about it.

I joined the NAVY and didn't get back home until 8 years later.  She had met someone else at Hope College and had moved on.  50 years after the last time I saw her we had a reunion at her kids house in San Jose.  We talk every week now, she claims we never broke up and she wasn't finished talking anyway LOL ...

My college sweetheart and I stayed together for two years after we graduated then one day she just told me it was over. She married another guy two months later.

I only had one sweetie in high school. Beautiful, way to uptight and full of herself.  She also really enjoyed picking fights with me. Lasted maybe six months. She later married my cousin, and that didn't last either.

He was a great guy in every way but I needed to experience life a little more and date a few more people. He has called me a few times over the years and we catch up. He married twice in his second marriage he had a son that is schizophrenic so he will be with them forever. It ties them both down a lot, that made me sad to know.
