Here’s the problem with the right’s twisted gun owner mentality: gun owners are always responsible until they are not. Now don’t get me wrong, I don’t want to ban guns. I’ve been accused of that a gazillion times, but I don’t want that. I want to limit the access to guns for crazy people who think this is okay. We have a 65-year-old man, who came out of his house one night and shot some kids who were pulling a Tping prank on their principal. Sure these kids were not supposed to be TPing their principal’s house, but should their punishment be death?

The principal did not press charges on any of the kids. I’m sure the principal took the TPing to be the joke that it was; he does work with kids every day, after all. But his neighbor thought it was within his right to sentence them to death, and it is a story we hear too often. A gun owner believes that the logical solution to whatever is taking place is to fire their weapon and kill the other party. George Zimmerman’s murder of Trayvon Martin is a perfect example.

The right likes to scream about their ‘responsible’ gun owners’ Second Amendment rights. For them, that sacred right that seems to trump all else, including the right to live without fear. Or even the right to live. That is a huge problem, and the people who continue to pretend that it isn’t? They’re stupid.

There was no reason for this man to shoot at these children. Yet, he thought it was within his right to do so. Where do you think he adopted that mentality from? I’ll give you a big hint: they use an elephant as their logo.

Well said, LLL, I do not think any rational person would think that those kids deserved to be executed for a Halloween prank.  Here in Virginia, as the governor's race gets closer, the NRA is sponsoring ads saying that Cuccinelli will protect your gun rights but McAuliffe wants to take your guns away.  I am not anti gun either, I just do not think that guns should be available to people who think they have a right to shoot at children or innocent people in some demented illusion of self protection.

Q: How many NRA lobbyists does it take to change a light bulb ?

A: MORE GUNS !!!
