"Heros"

This is a poem I had started around Veterans day and then got a bit of writers block and finished it about a week later:

These men don't fight for fortune
nor do they fight for fame       
and if you did not know them     
you'd never hear thier name      

They are our nations soldiers    
the ones we send to wars         
putting thier lives on the line 
to protect our nations shores    

And whether they came back home  
or met thier final call          
they are our nations heros       
respect them one and all

Yes respect them and their needs when they come home 

some can not forget what they did or saw or how they were treated

often they are broken in body and mind  and we must never forget them

they that went away to protect our freedom
