You liked him or you hated him

a rough, tough and tragic life he lead

A quote from Ernest

The most essential gift for a good writer is a built-in, shock-proof, shit

detector.  This is the writer's radar and all great writer's have had it.

Well the poor man would have liked me because I would have confused him to death

and he would not if he was coming or going, up or down, twirling or sitting...I tend to do that to people

 imagination is a must

you have to get into the character and see how they feel,

become them, feel their joy or pain,

treat the character as though you are playing a role, learning the lines

become them on the stage...write and rewrite

I  have no clue if I have "my own style" or not but I must say

I do get a big smile on my face and in my heart

when someone tells me they really thought my story was true

when all along it was a figment of my very wild imagination

I have had people ask me to read their writings

I tell the truth to them of how I feel about their story

but I also tell them it is my opinion

and they should do as they wish

because it is their story not mine

I know how you feel about family reading your writings

I seriously doubt that many family members even have time to read them

once my daughter heard a tape recording of one of my stories and she

asked who was the other person speaking with me

I replied that both voices were me and she did not believe me

since I moved again I  need to find that recorder because when you hear

what you wrote you can get the gist of the story better

Thank you MsAlex  I found a recording for you
