TBD

TBD on Ning

Looking into relocating back up home in the green mountain state of VT.  My place of serenity and where I was brought up and plan to die.  A very unique sate where one can walk around naked and strap on a 6 gun, where the respect of people-hood is respected.  The air is clean but those damn winters! lol

Where would you move if you could?

I'm happy where I am, Wisconsin. I don't like winter so I do leave for warmer climates in January, February, and March.

We let you carry a concealed weapon.......but we arrest people who don't conceal their private parts.

I don't know about respecting peoplehood, but I do know that it's illegal to show your manhood.

I want to live where I can let my hair go crazy, don't have to worry about layers and layers of clothes, have the sun kiss my face, then lather it with sunscreen, see palm trees, turquoise water, wear flip flops--I guess Margaritaville is the place.  But that's only when it's winter in New Jersey.

I also want to live near a lake where I have a canoe and a screened in back porch that runs the length of the house and looks out on the water and the trees and houses dotting the hills the other side of the lake. And that is when it's summer in NJ.

IN other words, I am leaning towards no more cold, a body of water in the near vicinity and lots of peace.

ditto that, my sentiments exactly...

I did move to the climate of my choice Santa Barbara County, it's perfect for me warm all year cools at night near mountains and the ocean low humidity lots of sun the air is clean.

I still love Michigan for all the beauty and the lakes, I visit it when I can. The ranch in WY I love to visit during my favorite times of year to see the wild critters and the stars without light pollution. This will be a good year for me I'll be in WY in late May and Michigan in Aug. back home in Santa Babs the rest of the time.

The ranch in WY is at 8000' the mountains surrounding at 12,000' we have a family cemetery there on Sheep Mountain so when I'm no longer alive that's where I'll be.

It's a tie between the San Juan Islands off the coast of Washington......and the coastline of No. Carolina.  It's a bit hot for me in the summer, but the mountains are just a few hours' drive away.

Not all that fussy...I've lived all over. Someplace warm and not too crowded.

outside of Boston my whole life, but often wonder if i'm to stay here forever. am truly done with snow, have no use for it, don't like shoveling it, hate driving in ice/snow...   been thinking about the infamous retiring to florida...  have visited there, the main attraction at the moment is housing costs--so much cheaper than up here.  almost at the point of 'getting the heck outta dodge' and just starting over anywhere...

I would love to move to Vermont though NOT for the reasons you mentioned WildBillJohnson.....LOLOLOL!! I generally LIKE  snow but if I moved somewhere with snow, I would have to be in a job where I dont have to drive in it (LIKE NOW). I also Love Wisconsin, where my son lives, and Tennessee and Ohio where I USED to live. I know it would surprise a lot of people but I like my hometown LEAST of all. Its where I live now. When I was a kid, I used to tell my parents I wanted to live somewhere ELSE when I grew up and I DID. I moved BACK to Pittsburgh 3 years ago. I dont stress over much of anything EVER but I find its a real pain in the A$$ to get anywhere in a reasonable amount of time. I'm more of a country/nature kind of person than a CITY person. Even as a kid, I felt that way.

well at 37 years old i made decision that i din't wanna live in the city anymore ..and i didn't wanna work for someone else anymore either so it was now or never .. i thought of a couple of places i could go .. one was upstate new york in the finger lakes region .. such a beautiful place .. the legend has it that when god made the world he leaned down to get a good look and there are ten finger lakes .. probably not true but if you saw the place you might think it over a bit more carefully .. problem with upstate new york is they get that lake effect snow and when we got 9 inches of snow in the ny metro area they got 29 inches .. and i was never a big fan of the winter .. or the autum either for that matter so florida it was .. had a buddy who moved here and i was best man at his wedding on sanibel and thought ok .. i can make this work .. i must admit the summers are africa hot down here .. but the winters are beautiful .. i think it was about 79 or 80 today .. we're gonna get a cold snap this weekend . yup .. it'll only go up to the 60's .. but i'll deal .. i'm where i wanna be right now .. i own my house and my shop next door .. got me some roots and a piece of the rock .. and for me thats sayin somethin .. i'll bet i moved 25 times before i finally moved here .. and i'm here for goin on 15 years now .. i never lived anyplace in my life this long .. probably no three places this long .and thats countin the 3 longest places i ever lived .. its not much of  house really . more like a bungalow but it works for me .. if i ever have to move again i think i'll just shoot myself ..
