Is there a corresponding cartoon for boys and their fathers?   I don't necessarily disagree with the sentiment, but the message in this particular graphic does nothing but blame the mother and lay the responsibility with the girl alone.  It is much more complicated than that, involves more that just the parents and it takes two to tango.

When I was in school it was the innocent clueless girl caught in this predicament not the flashy bold girls. Things may have changed over that long period of time.

I AGREE, T2 and its just much more complicated than the above "illustration". And girls don't get pregnant because they were exposed to this either. Take it from one who KNOWS. My parents were very conservative and were careful of what I was exposed to. I had a Norman Rockwell childhood as my ex husband used to describe it but I got pregnant ANYWAY. HOW did that happen? Well, DUH, I was just another high school girl who wasn't careful! I also experimented with drugs and drinking.

I was also very conservative with MY kids. My daughter never really wanted to date until she was about 20, she never drank til she was 21, neither of my kids smoke/do drugs or drink more than very occasionally.

Were "WE" the better parents? ABSOLUTELY NOT!!  My parents were "on the same page" with parenting, they were FUN, they were attentive, etc. my husband and I were a train wreck together at parenting. We RARELY agreed on what was right except when it came to the above cartoon. My EX had been into a lot of drugs when he was a teen although we were also on the same page about that stuff. But everything else....UGH!! MY kids should've been a MESS!

So you see, there are NO guarantees!!!

My youngest Daughter Karen got pregnant running around on her boyfriend . She lost the baby . But sure learned about birth control and slip ups ...
