I have been so careful (or lucky) not to get the creeping crud this winter.  Now I find out I have been exposed to whooping cough.  I went and got the vaccine (I think its called DPT) and am wondering what the incubation period is for it. It supposed to be running rampant up here.   Oh, the vaccine was $70.00.

i think whatcha gotta do is stay away from babies dwalt .. other than that ehh you might cough a little bit or a lot .. but you'll get over it if you have it .. unless .. you don't ..

Umm, the person I was with was my age.  He went to two diffent Drs and they both said that's what it was.  And believe me, I stay away from babies!!

you mean vets doncha ?? and did they give you a distemper and rabies shot too ?? .. ok i'm just teasin you .. i hope it turns out ok ..

Uh oh, hope the vaccine takes care of it for you, meantime I'm glad you're a virtual friend.

Thanks!! I tell ya'll, he is really sick.  He is on his second z-pack of antibiotics and still feels like crap.  I would have gone to the vet but he charges more.....

just as an incidental remark, there are certain areas of the country that scare the crap out of the cdc because of the prevalence of parents refusing to vaccinate their children for things like whooping cough..i think the term they use is 'an epidemic in waiting'

That's this stupid state and that's exactly what the Dr told him when he went....

I have Kaiser and I got it for free :)

I called my insurance and they will pay 60 %.  If I had gone thru my Dr 100 %. I just couldn't get an appointment as quick as I wanted.

The nurse gave me mine..just walked in after work ..Love Kaiser♥

I had it as a kid, wonder if I have the antibodies against it?

You're right about some parents not getting the shots, we have a friend who's daughter refuses to vaccinate her kids for anything. She's super into everything natural, grows lots of her own foods, most everything else she gets as pure as she can. She's been sick herself and is maxi dosing herself on probiotics to cure herself. I personally have never heard of that, don't even know if it's possible. I worry about her kids every time I hear whooping cough is making a come back someplace. Hope you stay healthy, dwalt!
