Now i am well aware that some of you don't believe in God , Bible , or some don't believe anything to live a normal life . I see on Face Book and many other site's that Prayer is needed for maybe , A wife , husband , child . Even if you don't believe i feel it is good to speak to your soul for the well being of that person's request .

What do you think ?

Do you believe or feel Praying works ?

Kim, that was beautiful, brought tears to my eyes...

I don't understand  your phrase "or some don't believe anything to live a normal life" HUH?

I don't believe in organized religion however I am a spiritual person who has faith in a higher power and the universe. The only religion that would appeal to me would be one that worked for everyone on this earth and didn't exclude anyone.

I don't pray often especially for myself, there is one time I was seriously worried for a friend, she was having surgery one morning so I left my desk at work and went for a walk and prayed hard with tears that the outcome of her surgery would be a complete success. It turned out she had ovarian cancer after her surgery her doctor told her that when she started she did not think Jen would be alive in a year and as she was removing the cancer tumors suddenly things started looking much better and she was sure she got it all. She mentioned it because it was an unusual experience. I asked Jen what time her surgery started and she told me 10:00 am, it was 10:20 am when I went outside and prayed for her.

It turned out that Jen didn't need chemo after the surgery and she has survived now for more than 13 years. Did my prayer help? Who knows however I do pray for other people when they ask and if I feel connected to them or the trouble they are trying to overcome. It can't hurt.

A friend of mine died suddenly at the age of 45 from a heart issue. We had been 'besties' since we were 4 yrs old and I was devastated. She was kind of the sister I never had. Anyway, a lady I worked with had given me a small bottle of water blessed by Our Lady of Medjugorje (in Bosnia) brought home by her daughter who had went on pilgrimage there. My friend was having a procedure done and before hand, I visited her at work and used the water to bless her for her surgery. She had the procedure done a day or so later, it came out fine and they said she was essentially cured but they'd see her for a last check up in a month. She died 11 days later. I was extremely upset when I questioned the lady who'd given me the Holy Water and said if it had any powers they sure didn't work for my friend. The lady looked at me and quietly asked "how do you know that? She may have died a long suffering death if not for that water, maybe something horrible could have happened to her if not for the Lady's water". I actually was dumbfounded by that and after really thinking about it, she was right. Who am I to say that water DIDN'T help my friend? Again, I guess it's faith.

AmerkinWmn....what a devastating loss, one you never get over. But what you learned from it maytake you through some tough times. I have no idea your age but no matter....people "our" age, if we live a long life, we are gonna see many people die before us. Andits good if there is something we can hold on to that wont allow us to break down outr very BEING every time....

Chief , i was in Methodist church also . You have described how i feel also . "What Does It Hurt " ....

Exactly, Chief. What does it hurt?
