TBD

TBD on Ning

We went to lunch in Santa Barbara on Friday and were just checking out, my husband suddenly lifted his shoulder and stared at me with eyes open wide. I asked if he was ok and he couldn't respond. When the waiter brought the check back for me to sign I told him something was wrong and he asked if I wanted 911, of course I did and while I was still talking to the 911 operator the paramedics were there. My husband was in the hospital within 15 minutes getting care.

He was talking by the time he arrived and is doing well, speaking clearly understands well, he will have some right side weakness and there are a few coordination problems with his right hand but already that is improving. We will be doing physical therapy and as a team us old dogs will be learning some new tricks. He is still in ICU and will probably be in the hospital for a few more days.

Scared me silly.

i am so glad that, if it had to happen, you were there and you were in town so medical care was close. all best hopes and wishes for you and your hubby...

Oh dear... Glad to hear prognosis is good....

Oh, that must have been very frightening.  I hope you all get through this OK and things get back to normal quickly.  Sorry, Sandra.

Wow, sorry and hope he gets better soon; hang in there!

I know it's a scary thing...Thank goodness you were able to get care for him quickly. Hope things continue
to go well for him.

Very sorry to hear this; prayers and good wishes are with him.

glad to hear its gonna get better .. keep us informed on how he's doin ok.. hang in there lifey somebody up there likes you .. and we're kinda fond of you down here too ..

Thank you for all your good wishes and prayers/thoughts or vibes, all appreciated.

Today he got out of ICU and tomorrow I think he goes to a rehab facility which is state of the art from what everyone is telling me. We keep seeing continued improvement with everything. The biggest things we'll be working on is his right peripheral vision and more coordination of his right hand. He'll have to use concentration to remember to check out what's on his right side.

Lifesighs I am so sorry to hear this.  But very happy that your husband is responding so well.  I can't even imagine how frightening that must have been for you and him.  Thank goodness you were with him and recognized he needed medical attention and that it arrived so quickly.  Fast treatment is critical when dealing with strokes.  I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers for a continued and steady recovery.

I am so sorry to hear this.  Ya'll will be in my prayers....keep us posted.  Hugs!!!
