I have ended my Illinois part of my vacation. I have settled in at my younger daughter's place in LaPorte, IN, for the duration. I head home the night of the 9th. It has been great fun, for the most part, and I, too, ate too much. Musta put on at least 3 pounds. I have to lose more than that this year; my #3 granddaughter just got engaged, and I want to be the hottest grandma at the wedding.
My daughter has to work til 10:00, and then by the time she closes up the restaurant, it's usually around 11:00.....so we will not have much of the year left by the time we bring her home. We have pulled pork, and a few other munchies. Probably toast in the New Year with a little glass of wine. If we aren't too pooped, we may watch a movie. Real Party Animals, aren't we? :-)

Here I am a day late and a dollar short ... We got out of work tuesday at noon, my friend and I went to this new very nice steakhouse for lunch... Had been the week before with another friend and had a great steak dinner, so this time decided to try the fish, OMG, it was the best salmon I ever had, with some potato gnocchi in a white wine sauce, absolutely fabulous, this could be my new go-to place.. Well, whenever I have an extra 40bucks for lunch, but it was worth it (and so am I, lol)
Got home around three, and geez, now what? Went for a 4.5 mile walk, was cold but was good, got back before dark...
Figured I had to sort out my stash of yarn... Organize the colors and such... Spent the evening crocheting for next years Christmas gifts-- hats and scarfs for all... Happy New Year!!
Today, put a lentil and sausage soup in the crockpot, more crocheting and a bunch of phone calls, computer games, learned on FB that an former co-worker passed away...
Back to work tomorrow , not sure for how long, since there is snow coming this way... And already planning on not going in on Friday... I have no use for it and way too nervous to drive in it....
So along with deciding if I'm really going to retire in the few months or just ask the boss for a month off to go to Fla to be with my daughter when she has the baby... Needless to say, if he says no, that decision is made for me( buh-bye, you'll miss me when I'm gone!)
That's my story and I'm sticking to it :D
