Does your State require People too pull over for a Funeral Procession ?

Or is It common courtesy ?

Do you think it is wise to still do it in this day and time being that it is so much traffic ? Could be considered dangerous !

I know we pull over to side of road .

In the south it is commom coutresy.  In the NW I'm not even sure they have funerals.

really? what do people do with them then? serve them in a buffet?

I think we should, out of courtesy for the grieving, pull over, slow down, whatever, for a funeral procession.

One time, I wasn't paying attention and went in front of someone in a procession. When I realized what I had done, I made so many apologetic hand gestures, which probably just looked like I was having a seizure, and immediately pulled out of the way again.

They do have the right of way, usually the police stop the traffic so the procession can continue as one. Plus they get to go thru red lights....

I haven't seen a funeral procession since I was much younger...people must be living longer or there aren't processions here very much I would guess. I know that you aren't supposed to mix into the procession and each car has a little white flag on it. I remember that's what we did in my dad's funeral in 1984.

Around here in citys there is a police escort and police to stop traffic at intersections till the pass .

Up here most people are cremated. I am going to do that too.  No one is locking me in a box 6 feet under.

Around here the police head up and end the funeral processions. Those that are part of it have their lights on and the police cars help with traffic. I've never seen it be a big problem with traffic. Most folks pay attention and I've never seen a procession on a freeway where speed might be an issue.
My brother and my Dad were both cremated but we had a funeral procession from the funeral home to the graveyard where we planted the ashes at the gravesite.
My body will be cremated also but the family has agreed to scatter my ashes in the Gulf of Mexico...I like the idea of being reintroduced back into the circle of life as fish food vs fertilizer for the grass...
