I'm on the waiting list at the library for Girls of Atomic City; can't wait to read it too!

I just finished another Alexander McCall Smith, #5 of the the Ladies No. 1 Detective Agency of Gaborone, Botswana, "The Full Cupboard of Live."  Love the books in this series, as the local characters are rich with the culture of a modern day African city.  Next on the list is "The Forgotten," by Baldacci.

I have been sitting around for a week and a half waiting for one of the two copies of "Under the Dome" to get back to the library.  I imagine some readers have a hard time getting through the 1100 pages.  I gave up on it about 3 years ago, but I really enjoyed "11/22/63" so I am going to give King another try.  It is soon to be a TV series.

Finished The Game of Thrones and now working on The Jester by patternsen for the book club. Saturday, it will be back on the campaign trail, hope to visit some grand kids in June.
Kids...do not attempt this at home! I'm going to try to respond to everyone...sort of like the old days at other chat forums. If I miss you...just post a reminder. It may take 2 tries.
Rapa...vacation visits with family...a rare treat for me these days...hope you have a wonderful visit!
Ursula...DC visit...been there so dang many years ago...would love to return.
Gloria...I have started so many books since New Years...the problem? Loved several back in 2012 but am disappointed with recent choices.
Mandy/Carci...Stephen King...years ago I read his books but then it seemed like with the endings...if he couldn't realize a solution...heroes would be killed? But Mr. King's life changed after that accident and he seemed to get a new vibe?
Under the Dome to be honest...I'm going to re-listen on Audio starting tonight! Thanks for the reminder!
Did NOT realize that 11/23/63 was going to be a TV Production? Love, love, loved the book and after "Dome" then a re-listen to that one.
Lynn...EEEEEK! 8000 textbooks? And I am whining about having to assist with the Library Used Book Sale for maybe 3 hours next week? In my defense...I do still work.

To be continued
Continued from Prev Post

Lip Service...deep in a Vortex? I hear you...from Jan through March was deep into IRS action for our Company...now the IRS will know how it feels to try to sleep with hands clenched under the pillows.

Slopok ...did you say diving? Hope to get near some water ourselves ...but think that will mean into deep woods with fishing poles, remote steams and trout?

Lorouch...that science you are speaking about is often captured in BizWeek...guess folks trying to get a handle on it for serious financial impact...along with social implications.

Flower...Ha! I should have asked you about my Mothers Day bouquet...knew the Iris but NOT the other accompany selections? I had to take a photo and ask a cyberpal...what are these? Turns out they were Spring Lillie's...who knew?

BoPeep...just back from Upper Michigan and traveling through the state...figured 1 out of every 5 homes had a Pontoon Boat!

Mud queen...visit with Grandkids is such a treat for me, too. Just reconnected with an estranged chid from split up marriage of my Son's on Facebook! Happy, happy...how far it will go...not sure...she in Atlanta...and we in Chagrin Falls...suburb of Cleveland, Ohio.

OfficerRipley....so do you use IPAD for connecting here? Wish we could turn off the "auto-correct"!

We are grounded for Memorial Day weekend...don't really like to take the RV out on Natl 3day Holidays as our favorite spots which are wilderness in the Allegheny National Forest...get grabbed! Or nearest "neighbors" have barking dogs, young men with firearms who like to shoot after dark, blah, blah!

I'll be around...~mellow

Great hearing from you!!!!!!  Keep happy and stay well!!!!

No, I usually don't use my tablet to connect here, since it's slower than the laptop or desktop.  I don't know about the autocorrect feature on it; I did figure out how to turn it off on my iPhone but don't know about the tablet since it's an android.

HA!  It is nice to have someone like you on the Team - most folks who are expert with the communication actions are...um, er, uh...not seasoned veterans - know you are willing to explore all the dynamics of the latest devices; their limitations and victories!

So in my 'hood - it has been summer for a few days...now back to Spring?  Maybe even frost tonight?

Found Six Years by Harlan Coban in the den bookshelf - could swear I tried to get engaged...but gave up - will do a re-try.  OH...dropped Live by Night after over 1/2 way through - it is about rum-runners in the Prohibition Era - lotta guns firing, dead men on the ground - just couldn't handle.

Paris by Rutherford - don't like his Politics - but maybe worth a shot - only about 1200 pages? 30+ discs?

Our County Library going thru an update on Software - so I'm struggling to review what we have on hand.

Guess I have on my "cranky-pants" - I'm such a happy camper when reading a good book, too.~mlo

Just lined up a Kindle schedule:

--"Thunder Dog, the True Story of a Blind Man, His Guide Dog, And the Triumph of Trust at Ground Zero" by Michael Hingson

--"The Light Between Oceans" by M. L. Stedman

--"The Round House" by Louise Erdrich

All are very reasonably priced on Amazon Kindle, so I decided it wasn't worth the trip to the library.

I am still busy with some "around the house fixing up" and throwing away some of the stuff I've accumulated in nearly 3/4 of century of living and accumulation.  We still have packed up boxes from when we moved from our house to our condo 15 years ago.  In a more "emergency" mode, I need to fix the back door screen as the dog knocked it off it's hinges in pursuit of rabbit that was too tempting to ignore.
