It is week 13!! Will your team have a lucky 13--or a evil 13? This should be a week where we will get to see the 'big picture' of what the playoff season is going to look like. There are a few teams that have a do or die game as far as even getting a wild card position is concern! The team on the top of that list would be The Washington Redskins, who are currently 4 games out in NFC wildcard race--and there are only 5 games left. The unfortunate thing is The Redskins are playing The New Orlean's Saints--this time around! For some strange reason I am thinking that The Saint will be doing--and The Skins will be dying.

Let's check out the schedule for the rest of The League's schedule--shall we?

So what are the games of interest this week? Perhaps the most influetial game is going to belong to The Titans (5/6), Colts (11/0) game. As we all know--Vince Young and his Titans have been nothing less then spectacular in thier last 5 games--and really got the turned around team of the year. Thier 5 games in a row wins put them just 1 game out in the wildcard! JUST 1 GAME!!! (Broncos, Jaguars, Ravens and Steelers are all tied for 1st place in The AFC's Wildcards) BUT--this week--The Titans are playing The Colts--who always find a way to win--no mater how much of a deficit they may have! Could this be the proverbial running into a brick wall for The Titans? (side note--I am sure if The Titans had it thier way--it would have been week 14 already--because they play The Rams next week!)

The game with the most 'gotta win this one to make it easier to get a spot' influences is the Jets (5/6), Bills (4/7) game tonight. Jets are tied with the Dolphins for 2nd place position with both team being 2 games shy of 1st place Patriots. BUT both teams are also 1 game out in The wild Cards race! If The Jets wins and The Patriots lose--The Jets will pull within 1 game of the Patriots--and set themselves up in a better position in The Wildcard race. The Bills--still have a slim-but there position being that they are currently only 3 games out in thier divisional race--and--only 2 games out in the Wildcard race. So yeah--look for this to be a hard fought game--since there is a lot riding on this one for both teams.

The game with "The most to gain if we win" influence will be the New England Patriots (7/4) Miami Dolphins (5/6) game. As mentioned, The Dolphins shares a 2nd place tie with The Jets, and the team that is in 1st place in that division--is The Patriots--who coincidentally are also a 1st place team in the Wildcard race. If Miami wins this one (Go Miami! Go!!), they will be able to move up a notch in both catergories!)

There is a tie for the games with the most 'uh oh!' influence--and I am giving that to both the Denver Broncos (7/4) Kansas City Chiefs (3/8) game and the Oakland Raiders (3/8) Pittsburgh Steelers (6/5) game. Both The Chiefs and The Raiders are currently only 3 games out in the AFC wild card race. If either one of these two teams lose thier games and any one of the 1st place teams (as mentioned in 'The most influential game' paragraph), That will put Chiefs and/or Raiders at 4 games out next week. And since there will only be 4 games left by next week...then....well..I am sure u are getting the picture here--Right Ubu???

Ok folks--that is the best of observations I got. As always--if u have an observation I miss--please be sure to mention it. Does anybody have the NFL Network and will be watching tonight's Jets/Bills game? If yes--can u please contact me? please? Thanks!

Nope. Night, Heart.
T-30 till the Ravens/Packers game! After The vikings big lost last night---surely a Packers lost is not far behind--right? Ok--I got cybered sandwhich making stuff here---Who bringing the chip and rootbeer?

ARE YOU RADY FOR MONDAY NIGHT FOOTBALLLL??
Who is here?? Now folks--u can't tell me I am the only one here now--can u? Come out, come out--where ever u are!!
A rather sloppy (especially for the 2 turnovers Ravens) 1st quarter ends with the Packers leading just 3/0!
And Green Bay now lead 10/0! Looks like The Ravens' wings are being clipped!

By the way--if u have not yet done so--go and see the movie "The Blind Side"--A movie that tells the true story of Ravens' # 74 Rookie Tackler Michael Oher. I jsut seen it this past Saturday, and it really is an excellent story of how people can change the directions of other people's lives! And u really can take your entire family to this one, because there are no cussing that i can recall--and outside of a 'tough life' scene involving Micahel's crack addicted mother--the story is really inspuiring for the youth as well! I give it a thumbs up for sure!
The first half might have been won by Green Bay--but the 2nd half is being dominated by Baltimore!! 17/14 GB after Baltimore score twice on back to back turnover recoveries!
My medication doesn't like late night games. I guess you all heard by now that Green Bay won that one--right?

Ok--Week 13 wrap up! (And Lord--let this posting stick this week!!!)

Observations:

Welll...After 13 weeks and 12 games each, the league STILL have 2 undefeated teams, and no teams with a tied game on thier record. But this time around we came very, very close to having both of those records diminished in the Saints/Redskins game!!! The Redskins surprisingly held the Nation's attention by playing 60 minutes of football against the Saints, and when regulation was over--it was tied at 30!!! Saints got the ball 1st in overtime, and were able to end the game with a field goal. But how about a shout out for The Redskins?? I think we all owe them a standing ovation for thier efforts--so everyone--stand up--and ovate!! (Uh--UBU?? I don't see u standing up and ovating here?)

At last report--Kittykat told me that she and all other within the household have been avoiding Larry after the reeking Raiders followed up the stinking Chiefs with a win over the 2008 SUPERBOWL Champions Pitt(really in the pitts now)burgh Steelers. Hopefully our good friend Larry is now able to accept the things he can not change at this point, and Kittykat, as well as all others who surround Larry--are able to take off thier military garbs--and wear normal clothes again. Although I also understand that damages to thier house are still being accessed even at this point. We're here for you Larry!!

There are 13 teams with a winning record (41%), 14 teams with a losing record (44%), and 5 teams with tied .500 record (16%). There are 5 teams (16%) who share an 8/4 record, which is the most for the winning record. There are 6 teams (19%) who share a 5/7 record, which is the most for the losing record.

The division with the closest race going right now, (with a big thanks to The Giants for thier win!!!) is in The NFC East between The Cowboys and The Eagles, who both share 1st place with 8/4 records. The Cowboys however have fewer points allowed (213 as compared to The Eagle's 235). The NFC division is also the division with the smallest gap between a 1st place team and a 2nd place team with a 1 game separation between the Cowboys/Eagles and The NY Giants.

The division with the largest gap between a 1st place team and a 2nd place team is in the NFC south division where the Saints leads The Falcons by 6 games.

The division with the smallest gap between a 1st place team and a last place team is in The AFC East--where there is a 3 games difference between The Patriots and The Bills. There is a tie in 2nd place in that division between The (6/6) Dolphins and The (6/6) Jets, after both teams won thier games. (And we all know who The Dolphins beat--right??)
The division with the largest gap between a 1st place team and a last place team is in NFC south division where there is now an 11 games differnce between The Saints--and (must I really say it?) The Buccaneers.

The Teams that are currently holding 1st place and are fighting for a playoff spot for thier respected divisions are:

The NFC--Cowboys 1game up, (Even though they are tied for first place with the Eagles--however the PA difference gives The Cowboys just enough of an edge to hold top spot. It is wierd--don't ask me--I didn't do it!), Cardinals (3 games up), Vikings (2 games up), and of course the already have a spot Saints (6 games up).

The AFC--Patriots (1 game up), Chargers (1 game up), Bengals (3 games up), and of course--the already have a spot Colts (5 games up)

Here is how the Wild card race stands:

Over in The NFC--The Eagles and The packers shares 1st place--with The Giants standing alone in 2nd place being only 1 game out. The gap between The 1st place position and last place is 7 games--which is shared by both The Buccaneers and The Rams--who both have 1/11 records.

Over in the AFC--1st place is shared by The Broncos and The Jaguars. There are 4 teams that shares 2nd place, each being only 1 game out, and they are Ravens, Dolphins, Jets, and Steelers. (See Larry--all is not lost!! Your team is still in it!)

The Colts and The Saints are the only 2 teams who have secure a spot in the play offs. Currently the following teams are still in both thier respected Divisional race--and the wildcard race (Teams who are under 4 games out in both races):

NFC: Cowboys, Eagles, Giants (1 game), Cardinals, 49ers (3 games), SeaHawks (3 games), Vikings, Packers (1 game divisional, but tied for 1st in wildcard with The Eagles).

AFC: Patriots, Dolphins (1 game), Jets (1 game), Bills (3 games), Chargers, Broncos (1 game divisional, but tied for 1st place in wildcards with The Jaguars), Bengals, Ravens (3 games).

The following teams are still in the wildcard race--but not in the divisional race--(They are more then 4 games out in the divisional race--but 4 games or less in the wild crd race.)

NFC: Bears (5 games DIV, 3 games WC), Falcons (6 games DIV, 2 games WC), Panthers (7 games DIV, 3 games WC)

AFC: Raiders (5 games DIV, 3 games WC), Chiefs (6 games DIV, 4 games WC--but I wouldn't get my hopes up UBU!), Jaguars (5 games DIV, but tied for 1st place with Broncos in WC), Titans (7 games DIV, 2 games WC), Texans (7 games DIV, 2 games WC).

The teams that are out of both races are

NFC: Redskins, Lions, Buccaneers and Rams.
AFC: Browns.

So there u go!! The entire league totally broken down for u!! I have a feeling that things are really going to get shooked up in Week 14--Especially since The Vikings take on The Bengals, and The Giants take on The Eagles!!

Oh--and a special note to Larry--Cheer up my friend! Your Steelers take on The Browns in week 14!!! I mean how much damage can The Browns do to your team???
