TBD

TBD on Ning

Via internet stream you can listen to a variety of interesting music.

Google WQNA to find the stream. The show is called Fear and Loathing in Springfield and it airs 6 - 9PM CST on Sunday evenings.

It may uplift the downtrodden and down trod the uplifted. Some may faint, others may experience moments of rage and in some cases hilarity.

Hallelujah, Brother! I know I've been converted.

Into what, I can't say.

This was quite a mix--from Blind Willie to King Uszniewicz. I'm happily working my way from song to song, plus throwing in a few as I get distracted, which happens often.

For instance, inspired by Prine, I took a few minutes to write one of my totally not haiku serial haiku. If I wanted to name it, I guess "Jesus, The Vagrant Years" would do:

buddy jesus smiles
we sit close on a park bench
feeding the sparrows

"so what was it like"
i ask him tentatively
"being dead and all"

"not really so bad
once i got over living
in dad's house again"

i think about that...
jesus says "we need more bread"
then makes a few loaves

I hope you didn't suffer too much tonight, although I suppose that's sort of the Easter theme.

Happy (day after) Easter, Snagg.

Great set list. Yeah--ol' demon booze. It's certainly been a big problem in my world. No matter how hard I try not to, I always seem to drive my significant others to drink. :>)

Nice being reminded of "Alcohol." Hadn't heard it in decades.

I'd never heard, "The Inner Ocean," I don't think. Free-flowing goodness.

I often wonder what triggers you to pick a certain topic for an upcoming set. In this case, I doubt it was the advent of Dog Farting Awareness Day or Draw a Picture of a Bird Day on the 8th. I guess it could have been International Romani Day.

How does the topic selection process usually work?

I just scour the internet, looking for stupid-sounding "holidays" -

And, when one catches my eye, I start thinking of the most appropriately inappropriate songs that I can tar with the same brush. Simple, really.

2:47 am and I'm happily reconstructing your setlist on YouTube. It's better than donuts, but not better than sex (even if donuts are involved).

Love Lanegan's version of "Where Did You Sleep Last Night." Mom's Mabley made me smile. I haven't gotten to Shatner and Frampton yet, but I'm slipping into a fugue state just thinking about it.
