TBD

TBD on Ning

Via internet stream you can listen to a variety of interesting music.

Google WQNA to find the stream. The show is called Fear and Loathing in Springfield and it airs 6 - 9PM CST on Sunday evenings.

It may uplift the downtrodden and down trod the uplifted. Some may faint, others may experience moments of rage and in some cases hilarity.

Oh, I've got a few dozen already picked out (including several of the ones you've all mentioned), plus a few new ones that I've scrounged together since last year's show. The theme shows are ALWAYS fun to do.

Listened this morning since I had company Sunday night.

Thanks for posting the broadcast, Snagg. Since I like your show, I appreciate that when I can't listen on a Sunday.

I'm really curious, Quinn - What did you think of that ambient version of "Like A Rolling Stone" ? I try to play a fairly challenging or interesting selection of music - But I think that one was unusual, even for me.

For me, it was...unusual? odd? totally different? Yes.

Different enough to send me to Youtube to check out a couple more tunes by him. Don't think he's gonna end up anywhere on my play list, but I do like to hear different stuff.

Bubba, I'll admit that not everything knocked me out, but some of it worked well - Like some wacked-out combination of Brian Eno & Django Reinhart. I especially liked his version of Muddy Water's "Rollin' And Tumblin'" - Nice guitar work. The guy has chops, for sure.

The main reason I do those cover versions of entire albums is to shine a little bit of light on the width and depth, the sheer reach of the influence cast by classic albums like "Highway 61" or "Sgt. Pepper" or "Electric Ladyland". If I were as well-regarded an artist as Dylan or any of those other guys, I'd like to think that my work might have inspired at least a couple of kids out there to broaden their aesthetic horizons, whether they played it or just listened.

Also....It's one thing for any one of a million bands to knock off a cover of a random favorite song, here or there - But sorting and assembling the disparate covers into a cohesive whole is something else again. I flatter myself to think that I might have managed to make a few heads spin even a fraction as much as the original did.....

Now - If only there was a way to iron out all of those friggin' glitches on Ustream.
