An interesting article about the perfect killing machine, the pilot-less drones over Afghanistan, Pakistan, Yemen among other places.
The drones are not really pilot-less they are operated by soldiers 10,000 miles away in New Mexico, in the comfort of an air-conditioned trailer. This story is about the toll it takes on them.
The soldiers are supposed to be perfect killing machine just like the drones. But every now and then some humanity emerges and when it does you cannot do it anymore

In a sense this is related to the Newton shooting because many people were speculating on how the killer was affectless (meaning he does not feel the pain of others) due to his Asperger condition.
A poignant passage:
"Did we just kill a kid?' he asked the man next to him.
'Yeah, I guess that was a kid,' the [drone] pilot replied."

Apologies Kooner if you thought that I implying that people with Asperger or Autism do not feel the pain of other, that was certainly not my intent.
Adam Lanza was described as being insensitive to others pain but he also had multiple conditions besides Asperger, my information came from the following article. I only mentioned Asperger, I should have quoted the article instead
