so by now you've heard about ray rice gettin booted outta the nfl for knockin his girlfriend out on an elevator in atlantic city i'm sure .. this is gonna be a two part question so pay attention cause they'll be a test at the end ..

george orwell wrote a book called 1984 about how in the future ( supposedly by 1984 ) we'd all be under the watchful eye of big brother all the time so we wouldn't be able to get away with anything .. and a lot of people don't like the idea of havin camera's up so the police can look in on whats goin on in a bad neighborhood .. or in a business establishment in case they get robbed .. or just for their own protection for insurance fraud for fake injuries .. so what do you guys think about the watchful eye of big brother ?? does it bother you ?? or do you feel like shit won't happen someplace if there's a camera there ?? does it give you a sense of security ??

and now for part two .. do you think the nfl football league tried to ignore this beatin that ray rice gave his girlfriend and it was only because of tmz releasin the actual tape of him knockin her out in the elevator that got them to finally kick him out of the league ?? the league says they didn't know what really happened but the video i saw weeks ago had rice draggin his girlfriend out of the elevator like a dead dog .. how did they think that happened ?? do you think they thought she just passed out even tho he said he hit her ??

do you think the fine and punishment is too stiff for what rice did ?? or not stiff enough ??

do you think there should be some room for forgiveness here ?? that is after he atones for what he's done  ??

or do you think he's still a timebomb that can go off at anytime and needs some serious councilin and shouldn't ever be able to play football again unless he undergos some real heavy duty phscy evaluation by some qualified shrinks who can say yay or nay as to when he's ready to return as a condition of his atonement ??

or should the nfl just turn their back on him and let him fend for himself here ?? even considerin the amount of violence they do condone and encourage on the field ??

ok i lied .. there's a bunch of questions .. but i think they're important questions .. and there's no right and wrong answers .. just how you feel about it all .. we may not all agree .. but we might agree on some things .. or most things .. but above all if we discuss it here we might get some insights that we wouldn't get if we just kept it all to ourselves ..

and if they stay together. they can raise kids who think it is normal for daddies to beat on mommies thus setting the girls up to be beaten and abused and the boys to feel it is normal to beat on their 'loved ones'

It sometimes goes the other way, PA, thank God!  My sister recently divorced her abusive husband; she has 4 sons who are all determined NOT to repeat their father's actions.  I think she is the exception to the rule, though.  Too many kids model abusive behavior.

I don't mind the cameras, they caught the perps in the Boston marathon, they tell the story and don't lie. If people are doing everyday stuff they don't bother you. Big brother is out there already it may as well be useful for catching the bad guys including some bad cops. As far as getting rid of this Rice guy, yes he should be banned for life and his wife is an idiot for marrying him, she will learn soon enough.

I don't mind cameras either; I'm not doing anything I shouldn't be doing.  At the same time, it can help to catch people who are at fault.  I agree about Rice's wife but she is going to have to figure that out over time, unfortunately for her.

As long as some one isn't watching me thru my webcam wile i type I'm ok . I heard a while back some tv's coul be used like that ...

The cameras are here and there is nothing we can do about it. So long as they stay in public places I really don 't have a problem with them. However I am pretty sure cameras are already being used to spy on people in private places.

yeah thats the real slippery slope there p.a. .. i've heard of some people puttin cameras where they shouldn't .. but thats private citizens not the gubment .. and until not too long ago there were no laws against that .. it seems the way the law was written back in 1492 or some such galaxy and time long long ago and far far away  you couldn't tape anyone speakin without their knowledge ..or use it against them in a court of law ..  i thought that was still in effect but after the donald sterling fiasco with the l.a. clippers maybe its not anymore .. but as far as video goes it was pretty much open season for that .. i remember readin about some guy who had a video store and decided to put in some tannin beds .. so when he installed them he also put in some hidden cameras back there in the changin booths and where the beds themselves were .. i'm not sure how and why they discovered the cameras but when they did they found he had half the ladies in town on tape and the local police wanted to shut him down and arrest him . but they couldn't because there was no law sayin he couldn't do that .. in the end the guy lost his business because nobody in town would go there anymore but as far as i know no charges were ever filed ..  they may have written some legislation to prevent that kinda thing since but it may only be state by state or county by county or even town by town if they have ?? i'm not sure ..

but even if they did pass any laws sayin you couldn't do that i'm not sure that would stop the gubment if they felt they had to put them cameras up .. i'm not naive .. just ask eric snowden .. i'm just not aware of where they're doin it if they are .. i'm not even aware of where they're doin it and its legal .. which shows you how much i'm concerned about it .. and maybe i should be .. but i'm not breakin the law so i'm not worried about it ..

If they are watching me they may die of boredom.

oh yeah pat .. the eye in the sky .. this is the perfect place for a shameless plug .. but the beauty of it all is it fits .. alan parsons was the producer of pink floyd and when you hear this it makes you think yeah .. this coulda been a pink floyd song .. its so 80's but i always loved this song .. its about someone who's eyes are finally opened and ain't gonna take any more shit so quit lyin ..

 Don't think sorry's easily said
Don't try turning tables instead
Youv'e taken lots of chances before
But I'm not gonna give anymore
Don't ask me
That's how it goes
Cause part of me knows what youre thinkin

Don't say words youre gonna regret
Don't let the fire rush to your head
Ive heard the accusation before
And I ain't gonna take any more
Believe me
The sun in your eyes
Made some of the lies worth believing

Chorus:
I am the eye in the sky
Looking at you
I can read your mind
I am the maker of rules
Dealing with fools
I can cheat you blind
And I dont need to see any more
To know that
I can read your mind, I can read your mind

Dont leave false illusions behind
Dont cry cause I aint changing my mind
So find another fool like before
Cause I aint gonna live anymore believing
Some of the lies while all of the signs are deceiving
