Actually, I thought of wheat beer first, and that reminded me of rye.  In the past, I have tried, mostly unsuccessfully,  to clone Blue  Moon. I've never seen the Shiner Weisse but will look for it. I once cloned Shiner's bock. It was good, but not so good as the original. I'll look for some Weiss recipes.

I'm asking for some input here. As you might guess from my screen name, I occasionally set aside a day to brew a batch of craft beer. I am planning a brew day soon, but can't decide what style I want to make. Looking for suggestions, what would anyone else prefer. Last spring I brewed 2 cases of a bourbon porter to take to my son's house (10-hour drive) but covid quarantine delayed the trip and now that batch is half gone and I need to make something else to take when we go. Today I'm leaning toward a rye ale, any suggestions?

Well, there has been a coup d'etat here at Kooner's Landing. (Kooner where are you?) I have agreed to Aggie's request to assume the role of administrator in this group. I will admit that I'm a bit uneasy in this since I am more of a responder than an initiator. I have always avoided any sort of leadership roles so right up front I'll say that I will be appreciative of any content anyone feels fit to bring to the group, even a few fires as long as they are small. I guess it's my job now to be firefighter. I would like to get a read on how many of our current 46 members are active here on TBD. Perhaps if you see this, you could check in some way?

P.S. I'm not much of a tech guy, so if you have questions on how the site works, I'll try to help, but Aggie would be my best resource.

Thanks, Aggie. I will try to help to keep the fires burning here. I didn't have time to keep up with 2 sites, but now that Boomerville is kaput, I have more time to participate here.
