As I understand it, many of the cRkyghtbabies are insisting that they will not be sending their urchins to school Tuesday so they won't be exposed to President Obama's propaganda. Good. Keep your little bastards home and in ingornace. It's served you so well.

During my last few years teaching high school in Oregon, the ultra conservative group calling itself the Oregon Citizens Alliance came out with several ballot measures aimed specifically at hammering gay people. They pulled no punches initially, figuring that simply mentioning the word HOMO was enough to incite the voters.

During future attempts (all of which failed I'm happy to say) they published a 'broadsheet'...a small "newspaper" type thing. The claim of the paper was that the homosexual agenda had been discovered and that this paper was designed to inform the reader and arm them against an HOMO approaches.

I was in the middle of a lesson when one of my students asked if we could have a vocabulary lesson. I'm an English teacher...I was thrilled...and asked where they'd like to start? One of the little shits pulled out this broadsheet.

I assure you, that in all of my years of education, I had never, ever witnessed, nor had I ever mentioned the terms RIMMING and FISTING in my classroom. It took an ultra conservative, gay bashing group to bring those words into my classroom. See, as part of the broadsheet, on the last page, was a "dictionary of gay terms."

So, you idiots from the cRyght....keep your little bastards home. School them yourselves. Don't be surprised, however, when teen rebellion hits and they finally throw off your yoke, that they don't swing so far the other way you'll have to disown them. That, too, has been my experience.

My experience as a teacher was pretty much the same. It always seemed to be the children of very religous or right wing parents that brought up inappropriate subjects in class. Or tried to hijack a lesson to promote their parents agenda. I also saw many of them rebel as you said.
As a liberal, we made sure to discuss all the "inappropriate" subjects at home until the kids were sick and tired of talking about them.

I specifically remember, after the wife and daughter were coming off a local production of Eve Ensler's "Vagina Monologue" (my wife stage managed, my then 13 year old daughter was in "My Vagina Was My Village," and I did general stage work), our son was in the back of the van, listening to us recap our experience. At 11, he shouted, "Enough already! It's always 'Vagina this,' and 'Vagina that!' I just want to play my Gameboy!"
Interesting point, Hat. Thanks for bringing this up.
This is just another example of how crazy these people have become! We now have death panels, Socialism, Fascism, loss of our firearms, indoctrination by the President to further his political ambitions. How far will these people go to discredit Obama? Do they honestly expect to become a political party that can compete on the national level with these ridiculous ideas? I doubt it.
I see your point too, Maggie. Some folks would say "Where is the outrage!"
I am not sure if the school my son goes to is going to show them the speech. I am debating on keeping mine home to make sure he does see it.
If I may be so bold...you need to call every school board member and tell them that as well. Call the principal of their school and tell them...work your way up the ladder to the superintendent. I have no doubt what-so-ever that school boards and superintendents across this country are being swamped by shinola from the cRyghtbabies. It is time to give them a bit of a backbone and remind them that almost every elected President since Eisenhower has spoken in public schools, including the last moron.
