TBD on Ning

I first saw the Lady above emerging from a mist as an ethereal figure walking along a broken road littered with broken dreams and broken promises. She walked alone with her shoulders back and her head high, proud, steady, but wounded. Occasionally a tear would slip down her cheek and drop to the road below raising a small plume of dust.. She stepped steadily forward, ignoring the stiff wind in her face, refusing to buckle to the disappointments life had thrown at her.
I was walking a road parallel to hers; mine broken as well, littered with sorrow and pain, I saw only sorrow and pain ahead. And I didn’t care. I wanted only to turn around and go back through a door that had forever closed. Behind that door lay death and sadness as well as memories of a life suddenly taken away. The door wouldn’t open and I would turn around again and face into the same wind the Lady on the parallel road faced.

She looked over at me....and all I could see was a soft image of her face. I turned away not wanting her to see the misery written on my face. I could see her smile through the swirling dust from the roads we walked; a beautiful, sincere smile that was difficult to ignore. Then she spoke to me with voice so sweet, so unique that it was impossible to turn away. Her smile and her voice made my knees weak....and my heart smile.

We continued walking our roads, talking. laughing and occasionally shedding a tear or two. We found common ground between us despite coming from different environments and fighting different battles. Our roads angled closer together and we found ourselves reaching out to each other, holding hands, walking steadier, heads higher and the wind slowly coming around as a gentle breeze from behind. We found walking easier. From time to time I would turn around to look for the door I had stumbled through. But all I could see was a vague image far behind, an image fading quickly into a mist. What I did see behind us in the dust was remnants of the ribbons that had held her heart captive; ribbons she had wrapped around her heart as protection from further pain.
Our two roads have merged into one now...with two sets of footprints. We walk closer now, holding hands, our hips occasionally brushing together. We smile, we laugh and we are writing a new chapter in our lives...on a slate wiped clean from the moment we first saw each other.
We feel we have rehearsed our whole lives for this moment......the curtain is going up...it is our time.
Her face isn’t visible in the image above....... My heart does not see her face. It only feels her love and the peace and happiness that her love brings to me. She is, however, a gorgeous woman.

She is a very special woman, warm, witty, full of life: she finds beauty in something every day.
I call her “My Lady”..........................................
