Most would recognize me as a learned & logical thinking man who has managed to hold on to his personal integrity and values. My education and life experiences have been diverse, and I try to keep well informed about current events unfolding in the world. So I really enjoy any intelligent and intellectually honest exchange of ideas on most topics. Please don't be just a thoughtless defender of the popular, or politically correct, 'public opinion-poll' driven positions of the day, and instead be willing to discuss important issues rationally and intelligently based on valid information.
The first sign of wisdom is some real awareness of how much we don't know. And I prefer to not to be conversant with anyone who seems completely unaware of how much they should still want to learn before deciding where they stand on controversial important issues.
Too many people today are apathetic, or replace their apathy by allowing themselves to be easily fooled by the rampant demagoguery of most politicians. And then they just lazily regurgitate a set of ideological talking points.
This too frequent failure by American voters to take the needed steps to get informed (so as to be able to think independently and critically,) usually leads to hastily drawing illogical and unfounded conclusions with which intelligent and knowledgeable people shouldn't be expected to concur.
As we are all now learning, elections truly do have consequences, consequences that aren't always what was expected, and can often be very damaging.
