I made the dress myself..It is called a Cherokee tear dress. All the pieces are square or oblong and were torn back in the old days. I cheated and used sizzors. This actual style was taken from a old pioneer dress found in a old trunk. The first Pow Wow dress made using the style of the old dress, was made in 1975 I think. The Cherokee women wanted a style to call their own for pow wows. I got the belt at a yard sale....although I took a leather class last year at Tandy leather & bought a few tools, I have yet to try to make something from leather myself...I have a few scraps, but nothing really big enough to work with yet.

I like that dress and appears hand tooled belt. I have hand tooled many a western belt and buckle.
