High today of 50/low of 28. Rain coming on Fri. but it will be warm again by then so no ice. Yay!

Well, it's 6 AM and (-) 3 degrees outside. Throw in some wind and that takes us to (-) 16 degrees outside! All I can say is burrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!
It's so cold, that the winter bird bath can't keep the water warm enough from freezing. Looks like there is a small opening in the middle of the bird bath that hasn't frozen yet!

Well it's bright and sunny outside, the wind has subsided. However, it's a balmy 4.3 degrees outside, as the thermometer continues to slide downward!
Sailspinner, you make my day!
MsAlex, love the graphic! However, my birds have been drinking and bathing in my bird bath, as it's heated! Gee.... they have it easy!
Seashelly, I'm envious.............. You have SNOW!! - LOL!

Hi and Good Morning! Well it is 20 degrees. We have been issued a Wind Chill Advisory for 10pm tonight till 11am Tuesday. You have the right idea GrandPa by staying in this morning.
Looking forward to a warm up, I see we will be upper 20's at the end of the week.

We're at 8 degrees, and it's only going to get colder today with wind chills well below Zerro!
Morning Sailspinner, Cancelled going out for breakfast this AM, it's too cold! - LOL. And I imagine your still walking around in shorts down there in GA! LOL!

Thirty-eight here in central GA this morning but we'll hit the mid 50s by afternoon. Tues. our high should be about 42 and rainy. We'll welcome the rain but stay inside and bundles up. Even the dog doesn't stay out long when the temp gets below 40. Hope your kids will pick up coffee for you Grandpa. (Bribe them) By the way, how is your friend Jim who hit his head?

Burrrrrrrrrrrrr, It's cold outside!!
Good Morning Dee, Ice Man, Seashelly, Sailspinner and Weather Friends!!!!
What a difference a day makes!! Yesterday we made it up to 49 degrees if you can believe that and we are 2/3 of the way thru January! Now this morning we are down to 12 degrees, on our way down even further!
Well, I guess I can officially say, winter has finally arrived here in N IL. However NO SNOW if you can believe that. Yup, officially we have received 1.3" so far this winter. That the accumulation of all the one tenth, and two tenths of an inch combined has added up to the 1.3" and that's at O'Hare. Now, Milwaukee WI has received over 25" so far, SO IL has 5-9" and northern IN in excess of 10". So I just wonder what we did to PO ole Mother Nature????
According to our weather folks, it looks as if we are going to be in for some frigid weather this week, with temps dipping downwards of -5, or -10 with wind chills of -20 to -25.
Now I wasn't planning on going out at all. We were stocked up with everything last week. Well, I was making coffee this AM, and I saw the bottom of the coffee can... And there isn't a spare in the cabinet! So, I might be in trouble!
I normally go out for breakfast every Monday, however my buddy is escaping and going south for a week. (chicken). Now maybe if the kids are coming over, I can conn them into picking me up a couple of lbs of coffee beans!
So it looks like I'm staying put for the next 5-6 days. Time for anothr log on the fire!!
So what it happening in your back yard these days!!!!
