Been hearing about the polar vortex heading for the midwest - you must be in it. We are cooler today - only 75 & cloudy right now - but humidity still is high so it's muggy. A little rain this afternoon & the garden needed it and could use more but the tomatoes are coming on strong & we'll have enough to eat and to freeze for winter. All is well in GA.
Morning Gang!
Back in IL after a road trip visiting various car shows....
Can't believe it's July, as it was 50 degrees outside. Just wonder if we are going to have a "Fall" or are we going to just jump into that white stuff! Don't laugh with that statement. Was in N WI several days ago, and they were talking some of the local temps were almost low enough to produce snow!!
Cheers! - AL
Morning Sailspinner,
Glad to hear that you folks are doing OK!
The 4th was DRY, and in the 50's, with everyone sitting around with coats and blankets on!
This AM started out in the AM, so it was really chilly this morning when I went out to work in the garden...............
Today will be a little below normal, with chances of more RAIN tonight. So now I'm cutting grass every 3-4 days, not a fun process...
Hope everyone has an enjoyable weekend!
Cheers! - AL
The 4th was a bit cooler in the morning but by afternoon heat & humidity were back. We heard fireworks last night but couldn't see any so watched PBS & the celebration at the DC mall.
Haven't heard from my friends in coastal NC so suspect they are without power. The storm came ashore 25 miles south of them so that's a distinct possibility. Sounds as though you came through well, Anthony. It's 70 degrees here but the sun is just now coming up over the trees so temps will go up fast now.
It turned out beautiful. There was no sign of the storm and now it is cool and clear at 72 degrees.
Right now it is overcast and wet outside. It is 75 degrees. Hoping for it to clear up.
Morning Sailspinner!
Based upon the early morning weather update, it looks like your friends will be OK, as Arthur is heading North, and staying more out to sea! So hopefully, everyone on the east coast will have a quiet weekend!!
Cheers! - AL
Friends in New Bern, NC told me last night they were under tornado watchs as they wait for Hurricane Arthur to hit. Haven't heard any more this morning but I read lots of people along the coast (where my friends are) are without power. Anyone heard anything today? I'm so glad not to be living along the coast any more!

Sunny, hot, and humid here in GA. Weekenders beginning to gather for the long holiday and our kids will arrive tomorrow. We've had more rain than usual & mosquitoes are everywhere but the garden is lush and tomatoes delicious. Happy 4th, all.
