David reached Viviane’s home and turned the ignition key off in the car. They both just sat there for a long while in silence.
“I guess I better go inside and after taking a shower, I will call Carter. Do you want to come in with me?” She was the first to speak.
“Honey I think I will let you get yourself settled. I think I better head for the office and look at what has been going on there. We’ve been neglecting our work lately because of so many other things that have interrupted our way of life. While you will be getting yourself organized I think I also must do the same, don’t you think? After all, we can get together for dinner at the coffee shop and compare notes afterwards. “ David places his hand on Vivian’s.
“Yes honey, I think that’s a good idea and then we will meet at the same place and we can talk later as you said.” She smiled.
They kiss and she gets out of the car and heads for the front door of her house. David starts the car and waits until she finally gets inside her house and then pulls away. “I think I don’t have to worry about her anymore, he thought as he kept driving. “She will soon get back to the way she was before her accident. I know she will.”
Once Viviane got inside the house, she decided to sit down in her chair for a moment. The room was dark, since she decided not to turn on the lights yet. She could see the sun going down from her window. She knew that soon it would be nightfall but she just had to take a moment to herself and think.
So many things have happened recently that I feel so unsure of myself. She thought. I know I was given a clean bill of health but David still has doubts about my memory, I know, even though he tells me he doesn’t. I must find a way.” As she kept thinking such thoughts the phone rings and she gets up to answer it.
“Hello.” She says in a low voice.
“Vivi, is that you? What did the doctor say to you? Can you begin your life as before now?”
“Oh it’s you, hello Amy. How have you been? It seems ages since I last talked with you.” Viviane pulled the phone close to the chair and sat down.
“You sound wonderful dear girl. How do you feel?”
“Oh I’m much better but still have questions I would like to have somebody answer them for me. I guess they will come in time or maybe Dr. Parson is right. I just imagined those things. But I still feel a little unsure of myself. I have to get ready because I promised David to meet him later at the coffee shop. You know the one.” She answered in a tired tone.
“Now listen young lady, you go take a nice hot bath and primp yourself up and stop feeling like you are a sack of potatoes. I know that some unpleasant things have happened to you lately but now you must turn a new leaf and forget those ugly moments and start being yourself once more.” Amy scolded in her forceful but concerned manner. “I don’t want you to get in one of those ugly moods I read about, you hear me? “
“Yes Amy, I know. I’ll try. It is getting late so I will call you tomorrow once I go to the mansion and see how Carter will react. Being that I haven’t been there for a while and since I’ve been away for so long who knows what’s expecting me once I see him.”
“Nothing will happen, I know. You’ve been able to handle crises many times before so don’t think you can’t handle them now. After all, the place is almost done from what you’ve been telling me so just go and face things tomorrow after a good night’s sleep and finish that darn house!” Amy demanded in her assertive way.
“Talk tomorrow okay? Love you.” She hangs up the phone and heads for the bedroom beginning to take her clothes off as she kept walking. It had gotten darker now so she also opens the light on the way and begins to head for the bathroom. Removing the last of her garments, she turns on the faucets and adjusts the temperature, then climbs inside the shower stall. The warm water hitting her body felt very soothing. Once she finished lathering and rinsing the soap off of her body she reaches for the towel just outside the glass doors shutting the water at the same time.
“You look so much better now that you’re so squeaky clean.” She tells her image in the mirror as she’s brushing her hair. “I think you are finally feeling more like yourself again Viviane Jordan, even if I say so myself.” She keeps talking as she keeps putting her undies. Next she lathers some cream on her arms and legs “You needed to refresh yourself gal.” She smiled. Placing some rose-colored lipstick on her lips followed by some clear gloss, she grabs her perfume bottle and sprays some perfume on her body. After that she heads for her bedroom closet. “Now what shall I wear to tantalize my man?”
Grabbing a lovely brown and white chiffon dress and rose-colored jacket she begins to dress herself. Then she goes to her drawer and takes out a lovely amber colored necklace and places it around her neck. She then pulls out some dangle earrings of the same and places them on each ear. Once she finished dressing she grabs her brown open-toed pumps and places them on her feet.
“There, how good it feels to want to look good again.” she tells herself. “Now to go and charm that man of mine.” She smiles.
Grabbing her brown purse she heads for the car.
By now the light posts were on in the street and she starts for the coffee shop. She was pleased with herself that now she felt like her old self once more. It made her happy she was finally feeling like herself once more. “It’s funny what a different outlook on things makes you feel and that’s what I’m doing for myself from now on. Just look at things in a good perspective instead of dwelling on bad experiences.” She told herself as she kept driving.
“David was right. He’s always right when it comes to me.” she thought. “I’m so lucky to have him. Once I finish this job things will be so much different and we can think of starting a life together. I will be so glad when this project is done.”

It seems to me that the project being done is the task at hand, and still has some shaky elements to be resolved. The tension builds even as Viv relaxes, or maybe because she is relaxing. Keep going!
